One thing I’ve done every single day for the past decade before I sit down to work, is put on my shoes. From that very first day I started working for myself back in July 2013, putting on my shoes each morning and walking to my “desk” has been my mental shift into it is time to make sh*t happen.
As an entrepreneur that works from home, there are so many guardrails that you must put into place to stay focused. It is so easy to get distracted by cleaning, laundry, phone calls from your mom or running errands. As someone with ADHA and dyslexia, I know the power of structure.
This simple routine of putting on my shoes each day is a signal to my brain that this is a time to work. This is my dedicated time to building my dreams and career.
Shoes are on! Let’s take on this Monday!
Last weekend I attended the Powerhouse Women conference in Arizona and left a brand new person. One of my big takeaways was what do I want my personal brand to be? The answer: where wellness meets business. This is part of my authentic code. I want to be known as a wellness entreprenuer and a subject matter expert on marketing + business. Honestly, this is how I can best sum of my 17 year career so far.
As part of this, I want to be honest about everything I have learned about building a business. From the giant wins to the failures. With that, I bring you a new version of the Behind the Sweat Podcast.
