Join us this week as we start an exciting 2-part interview on the expansion of the EOD Memorial Wall at NAVSCOLEOD.  For the first half of the podcast, we have the honor of speaking with United States Marine Corps (Retired) Major John Haynes.  John is a highly decorated veteran and EOD Technician and served in WWII, the Korean War and Vietnam.   John was the driving force behind the construction of the original EOD Memorial at Indian Head and served as the first Chairman of the EOD Memorial Committee.

Sherri Beck is retiring after 14 years of service to the EOD Family.  EODWF Executive Director Nicole Motsek and Financial Assistance and Resources Coordinator Maria Schabla interview Sherri about the various roles she has filled over the years in support of EOD Warriors and their families.  Her dedication to the community, compassion for others and just being who she is has touched so many lives. Sharing her delicious banana bread , lending an ear to listen, and meeting people where they are; just a few gifts she has shared over the year. We wish her the very best in retirement, she will be missed, but is oh so loved. Thank you Sherri!

Join Sherri and Maria for a great conversation with USMC SSgt (RET) Timothy Brown.  Tim talks about joining the military , the raw and honest reality of war, and being severely wounded in February of 2011.   Tim has not allowed his injuries to define him, as a triple amputee, he has overcome so much over the past ten years and is focused on future goals.  Determined to get out of the hospital bed, a long recovery and rehabilitate, he took advantage of opportunities such as hand cycling. This game changing activity prompted him to pursue a Business Degree from Georgetown University. Tim has been influenced by the work of various non-profit over the years, and hopes to give back using his personal experience and education to help others. This interview is as real as it gets. Keep on keeping on Tim!!!
