Behind The Wheel Podcast

Over the years, prior to running, I found myself in some tight situations.  When I say it like that it makes it seem as though, I wasn't in control of what was going, as if I was a victim of circumstance, when in fact the opposite was true-I ended up in those situations because of the choices I'd made in my life.  At this stage in my life, I'm trying to make better choices.  Writing is something I'm working on improving, so I stopped by Barnes & Nobles for a few resources.  Reading is a part of improving your writing, at some point I've gotta sit in the chair and actually write.

Listening to politicians trying to interpret what Trump say in plain english is hilarious.  No, it's actually an insult to all Americans and people all over the world.  What's more frustrating is the denouncing game the media plays for ratings.  If you've gotta corner someone with a microphone and a camera in order for them speak out against something they strongly believe, their statement shouldn't even be taken seriously because it was coerced.  Also on today's episode Charles Blow on Bigots and Rep Katie Porter, grills Big Pharma CEO for price gouging.

Rai is a really cool Gen Z, who we interviewed back in August during the interview her Mom walked in the room so we invited her to jump on the call-it was like having two interviews for the price of one zoom call.

The first presidential debate was neither a debate or presidential.  It was a national disgrace, we didn't learn anything new last night.  How on earth can anyone still be undecided at this point is unbelievable.

Do you remember a song by Dj Khaled "No New Friends?"  It was out in 2013 the video has over 32million views and I'd venture to say some people have literally taken the lyrics to heart.  I'd like to suggest making some new friends, venture outside of your comfort zone and connect with other likeminded individuals and you'll be amazed at what happens.  I'm not suggesting this as a self serving one-sided relationship, where you're just looking to receive.  No!  Friendships, like communication are a two way street.

Making new friends as we get older can be difficult, but it's not impossible Nikkis and Zsa-Zsa prove that it can be done.  Nikkis admired a quality in Zsa-Zsa so she reached out to her, Zsa-Zsa respected and appreciated Nikkis humor and transparency.  The two would become friends and while we were in the early stages of the lock-down the friends launched a business Exposed Vegan.

When a so called Billionaire pays $750 in taxes for two years that's a slap in the face to every hardworking American.  I guess I'd fight to keep my tax returns private if I was DJT.  Can you imagine how Wesley Snipes must feel after spending 3yrs in Federal Prison?

Have you ever had one of those days where you felt like you wanted to get back in bed and start over?  Some mornings I roll over while still in bed and check my social media feed before actually getting up to starting the day-this is not the best practice-I'll be the first to admit I'm not perfect. There are some mornings when I'm outraged by what I see online and that causes me to jump up and start the the day.  The inconsistency is not good and the beautiful thing about us as humans is we can change.

Group thinking can be dangerous I know we’re upset with the Breonna Taylor situation specifically Daniel Cameron decision to hide behind the Grand Jury, but a roasting session of Daniel Cameron is not going to bring back Breonna Taylor.

No one person has the power to excommunicate a black person from the black community, if you’re born black you gonna die. My concern with the excommunication philosophy is it can very easily force people into group thinking and they start becoming obsessed with being excepted by the popular group.

In the blink of an eye we can get a snap shot into the inner life of someone, by peering into their car, apartment, house, or junk draw.  I tuned in Believe In The Run's IG live yesterday and caught a glimpse of Richard Kuchinsky talking about kicks and I could instantly tell he loved talking about shoe design.
