A first-generation American, Hector Mujica grew up in South Florida after his parents immigrated from Venezuela in search of opportunity. Raised in a humble middle-class family, he watched his father serve as a pastor and community elder while his parents worked hard to provide for their families. Hector isn’t a career politician.
As the Head of Americas Philanthropy at Google, he led global programs that directed nearly $1 billion into workforce training, small-business growth, and disaster recovery — impacting millions of people across the Americas and in Florida.
Hector has been on the frontlines of the future of work, ensuring technology such as AI serves people — not the other way around. His experience spans strengthening online safety, championing the infrastructure and talent America needs to win the race on AI, and ensuring this AI innovation is a net benefit to society — creating new opportunities for workers rather than leaving millions behind.
