My fascination with the lead male character in a romance being a rockstar started early and it's never really gone away. In this episode, I look at the first novel that introduced me to the music world and analyse why that first novel could easily be seen as problematic, before I start looking at my most recent Rockstar reads, the Rock Kiss series by Nalini Singh! It's a wild ride!

Okay, so this one is a little less tame, but I have done my best to keep it as family-friendly as I can. This regency series, written by Alyson Chase, has a lot going for it, but it won't be for everyone. So why not listen to what I thought and make up your own mind?

I have been reading a lot, so I decided to start grouping some books together, especially those that came already marketed as a series. This time I am looking at a tetralogy, The Wallflowers Series by Lisa Kleypas. Being honest, not my favourite series of this year, but I finished it and here are my thoughts, in glorious technicolour (well, my voice).

Paige Toon is one of my favourite Chicklit authors. Her characters have depth, the stories are full of emotion (both happy and sad) and they have the ability to make me laugh and cry as the characters go through their lives. Of course, it's not all happiness and sunshine, but that's what a good book is all about - for me. I haven't only looked at the latest offering from Paige Toon though. Reading If You Could Go Anywhere made me long to revisit older books, so I also picked up The Longest Holiday which is some kind of sequel to Chasing Daisy...and enjoyed every minute of the emotional rollercoaster. So, join me as I enjoy these two great books from Paige Toon.

This week I was a busy bee and read two books I borrowed from the library towards the end of last year. I am a little behind on these, but I can assure you that I'm reading. The third book that I read this year was a definite diversion for me, it had elements of everything I didn't know I wanted; action, adventure, paranormal creatures and steampunk. The Invisible Library by Genevieve Cogman was the first in a series of 6 books (so far) and I am already adding the others to the reservations list from my local library. A definite: Would recommend, go and get yourself a copy today (but let me get my copies from the library first if you're based in the Sussex region).
