The eerie tale of how Edgar Allan Poe died is like something straight out of one of his own horror stories. 

On a rainy day in Baltimore on October 3rd 1849, A man is found delirious on the streets of a city in which he does not live, wearing clothes that are not his own, incapable or unwilling to discuss the circumstances under which he arrived.

At 5am on October 7th, 1849, at the age of 40, Edgar Allan Poe died alone and very afraid.... and no one knows how or why.
