Starting off our Courage to Succeed series world-renowned artist Robert Peterson joins on this episode with Double Nickel & Teller. Currently living and working in Lawton, OK Robert Peterson (b. 1981) is a self-taught artist. His spontaneous realism portraits have been exhibited and sold in galleries in NYC, Miami, Los Angeles, Chicago, Oklahoma City, Venice Beach, and Lawton, OK. Petersons highly sought after works have been collected by celebrities like hip hop mogul Sean Diddy Combs, Swizz Beatz, James Cruz, Fabolous & Coach K as well as athletes like Carlos Boozer, Amare Stoudemire, Floyd Mayweather Jr, Derrell Revis. The Oklahoma billionaire Harold Hamm family, as well as many others, have grown to love and collect original works of art created by Robert. Peterson’s work has been commissioned from large corporate companies such as Nike, Tony & Guy Hair, Monster Products and Sol Republic. In January 2017 Robert made Oklahoma history by becoming the first African American to ever receive the artist of the year in Southwest Oklahoma for his continued efforts to create amazing works of art and philanthropy.
