How Letting Go Gives You Control of Your Decisions
In episode 5, we discuss carrying the weight of the world and how we tend to keep adding instead of subtracting. When we really need to let go of the part we don't have control of, we grip tighter. We are desperate and are grasping for any and all parts of control. Will makes the statement that "what is killing us overtime is this mindset that we can keep adding everything on our back and still be human."
When we are trying to control all the decisions and all the outcomes, we aren't really controlling anything well. When everything feels like a priority, nothing is truly a priority.
At the end of each beingwell episode, they will leave you with a reflection question to help you process how decision fatigue affects your life. This week we want you to consider how your mindset of control is preventing you from knowing who you are and recognizing your priorities?

How Identity and Expectations Impact Decision Fatigue
Will and Eloise go deeper to discuss how the identities we have been given or choose impact our decisions. And with those identities come expectations. Both good in and of themselves. But can often create an unrealized tension inside. To illustrate this we use entrepreneurs, southern women, and pastors to help unpack this further.
No matter the identity or role, we need to first realize it, realize the hidden expectations that come with that identity, and decide if its true for us. We might be making decisions or stressing about situations because there is tension between what we want and the identity we have been given or chosen. We have agency to decide. Peeling back these layers help us on a weekly basis when there is a big decision to make or we have a situation not go our way. We ruminate, stress, and worry if we made the right/wrong decision or confused when things don't go our way. Listen in as we unpack identities, expectations, and control.
At the end of each episode they will leave you with a reflection question to help you process how decision fatigue affects your life.

Counting the Cost of the Good Things In Life
Whether it be Christmas/Holiday plans or starting a new business or adding a new responsibility in life - we need to count the cost of the good things to realize how it will affect our time, stress, and decision making.
Will and Eloise unpack why the holidays and vacations tend to sneak up on us and exhaust us. We have control to make decisions to reduce the fatigue if we are aware of the cost on the front end. And just like the holidays, we see this in our businesses and careers. We don't count the cost of the good things before hand, during or even after. And thus find ourselves surprised and repeating the same situations again and again.
At the end of each episode they will leave you with a reflection question to help you process how decision fatigue affects your life.

Who are you impacting with your decision fatigue? And who is impacting you?
Will and Eloise dive deeper into what decision fatigue looks like and feels like for the decision maker and the ones around them. The one making the decision is NOT the only one who feels the impact. This applies at work and at home. Will talks about the impact on his children while Eloise talks about the time she screamed in a car when deciding what to eat for dinner.
Listen as we talk through examples in the workplace, with friends, and with your significant other.
At the end of each episode they will leave you with a reflection question to help you process how decision fatigue affects your life.

The beingwell podcast is not a 5-step process to being successful or loving life. It’s about how our perspectives, mindsets and internal dialogue can affect our relationships, our health and our identity.
It’s not just WHAT we do, but HOW we do it.
The beingwell podcast is full of conversations among friends about really vulnerable topics. We don't have all the answers but we do have stories, examples, and tips that are real. Listen in as we discuss how to be well in a world, life, career and business that feels very chaotic.
My name is Eloise Stewart and I am small business owner who works hard to be well after years of burnout. My co-host, Will Joseph and I will dive deep into real issues we face as professionals and entrepreneurs. You will hear episodes with both of us, episodes interviewing guests, and some with me sharing a story.
We believe that beingwell is a constant evolution, not a destination. It's not enough to hear or know tips to being well. We have to talk about it in the context of real life and practice it.
