The Bora-less crew takes on a new Pseudonym in The Flo Belo. Without the core group in tact, Identities, Applestem, Jazz, and Chief Edit don’t review an album, but rather discuss a song. The discussion in this episode is about the Golden Era classic, T.R.O.Y. by Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth. They have some Google fun, and miss T.R.O.B. (They Reminisce Over Bora).
The boys go through a 90’s hip hop cover album and discuss what which songs they like and don’t like. Later, for the hop topic they pick what items they would bring with them in a desert island scenario.
Get ready to meet the radicalest rascal this side of the rockin’ Red River! Radical Robbie makes his first appearance in this episode of Belo the Flo. The homies review a nearly classic album by the Northwest based Blue Scholars. They also give some advice in a sort of “Dear Abby” experiment.
Belo the Flo reviews the well received release by Saba called Care for Me. It’s all about the music on this episode, as Chief Edit shares some keen insight on the album, and Jose discusses rhyme pattern and flow. This album is good, and BtF let’s you know it.
The drinks keep flowing in the second part of the New Years episode part 2. The boyz pick some of the best albums of 2018, and it is worth listening to hear some bickering and some great music. Check this episode out. Happy New Year, a bit late.
The drinks come out, and the gloves come out a bit on this somewhat contentious SPECIAL EDITION New Years episode of Belo the Flo. Aquaman, The Punisher, Silver Surfer, Beast, and Baymax share their opinions of the state of music in the year 2018. If you can bear the crew talking over each other a bit, this episode is worth a listen for the music, if nothing else. The best albums of 2018 as perceived from Belo the Flo are some stellar choices. The 2nd and 3rd picks from each BtF crewman are thoughtfully analyzed in the first part of this special two part episode.
Belo the Flo pays homage to the late Mac Miller in this episode where we review his 2018 release Swimming. The crew pays respect by submitting one of the highest ratings for any album we have discussed. There is some bickering, some back and forth, and Kiki and Charles take part in the discussion of addiction and music. If you are a Mac Miller fan, check out the analysis. It’s worth the listen. RIP Mac Miller.
