We're traveling way back in time with this one, nearly twenty years, to when Brad originally recorded this week's song. We're going to sneak into his house, steal the cassette tape out of his 4-track recorder, then blast back here to the present so he can do a total re-record. The results are quite drastic, and the theme of the song lends an interesting view of the shift in perspective the author undergoes between the two snapshots in time.

Buckle up BS'rs, we're heading to court. Yep, we're jumping in the ol' time machine again and visiting the year 1985 to sit in on the Senate hearing instigated by The Parents Music Resource Center that culminated in letting every kid know exactly which album they wanted to buy because of the resultant "Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics" rating system. The theme of this week's song relies heavily on the idea that some people just think they know better than everyone else what is good for not only themselves, but the rest of us too.

This week, an older song by Brad gets wrestled with. The recording is simple, and raw, and the boys learn that it can sometimes be rather difficult to deal with a stripped down song. This week we bring you a different sort episode. If you are a new listener, please be advised that this is not the format our show typically follows. Because of the global pandemic, our recording schedule and routine has become muddled. Our episode arcs usually take months to record, which makes it hard for us to talk about current events, so this week we are listening to some recordings that had been previously finished, and released. This allows for us to address the current situation in the world, and explain why our episode schedule has been altered, and why the quality of some episodes will be less than optimal for a while.

In 2010, Brad was sent for 10 months from his home in Michigan, to Georgia for work. During that time he managed to squeeze in some rustic recording time using a laptop, an acoustic guitar, and random utensils from about his apartment. The result was The Georgia Tapes EP, which we will listen to, and discuss, in its entirety.

This week we listen to, and revamp a song that was left for dead. Sometimes you need an outside perspective to push you into finishing something you may have given up on, and that's exactly what happened with this song. It's a good lesson to learn, and makes for a fun comparison of the before and after versions of this recording.
