- Ben Annand Live at Moontribe August 2017 Part 1It had been a long time (almost 2 years) since I played at a full moon gathering... last August I took over on the decks after sunrise and played a 4 hour set to close the party <3Hope you enjoy this portion of the set! Please repost if you do <3If you wondering why not the full 4 hours - it's because there were some sound issues at beginning where only one channel was working, and then the recorder was unplugged about halfway through - so what you get here is approx 20mins in to halfway :)* Photo credit: W Cisco Guy1 hr 39 min
- Ben Annand Live at Long Beach Love Festival July 29, 2017Summer Tour Mix Release #1 recorded live Saturday, July 29 at Long Beach Love Festival!I am spoiled happy Anton recorded this as I had to run to make my set with all the traffic coming in, did not have time to catch my breath ket alone set my recorder up.For coming in on the run like that I am really happy with this mix!Starting and ending on the deep house tip with tech-house in the middle, hope you enjoy the flow and music as I have been in my car the last couple days :)Having a great crowd of party people on the dance floor is always a big help, this was a super vibing daytime summer fest to say the least. It fell right in the middle of our summer tour, we had already driven from LA to Vancouver and back, spending a couple weeks in LA then off to Oregon Eclipse, and Canada once more! Thanks Anton and Subtract Music for having me, it was a blast!56 min
- Ben Annand Live at MuTribe in Kauai, Hawaii 5/11/17 Part 1Recorded live under the full moon at one of the most beautiful places in the world - Stellar Gardens in Kau'ai, Hawaii! This is part one of a 2-hour set, make some noise if you want the second half ;)Big thanks to my host, Jmeans, who brought me to this fantastic place and then to Oahu and Maui for other gigs. This was the cherry gig of the trip - outdoors, under the moon and stars, vibing crowd, great sound system and amazing dj booth. When the booth sounds this good the dj gets to experience the music on the same level as the dancers, this should not be rare but it is. Mixing was effortless, I danced like I was in the crowd, Mahalo!1 hr 12 min
- Ben Annand live at Deck 22 in Tijuana for Baja Burner, May 19, 2017This is a hot new techno mix that I played at Deck 22 in Tijuana for Baja Burner! Super fun party and crowd, I had a great time there and felt the love from everyone <3 Thanks to Jorge Del Rio for bringing me!Funny that I played in Mexico City, Acapulco, Guadalajara, Palenque, Playa Del Carmen, Tulum, Puerto Morelos, Canyon de Guadalupe, and Ensenada before Tijuana, which is actually the closest Mexican city to my home in Los Angeles, but that's exactly what happened! In any case, from my long history playing in Mexico I know it's a great place to play music for people, and also that they like it a little on the harder, trippier side, so that's what you have hear, a trippy techno set that still maintains elements of funkiness in the bassliness, hope you like it!1 hr 40 min

- Ben Annand at BPM Festival Mexico Jan 11, 2017 - Listed Presents PlayThank you to The BPM Festival and Listed Productions for bringing me to Playa del Carmen, Mexico for another amazing experience!Recorded 11pm-12am at the The BPM Festival: Listed Presents PLAY, idea was to keep things deep but also bring it up a notch as the dance floor is steadily growing during this time -you should feel that transition.Being the first major party of the New Year I like to bring all new music, not all just released, but music I have never played before anyway, so other the the opening track and a couple towards the end everything was new to me.La Santanera is one of my favorite venues for its sheltered roof but open sides, affording protection from the elements with beautiful views and the cooling ocean breeze. The party had just the perfect amount of people this year, and such a fun crowd to play for too! Sandwiched between friends Andy Warren and Mikey Lion & Porkchop in the lineup, really couldn't ask for more :)Was really feeling the sound system too!<3 THANK YOU Gunita Nagpaul ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !58 min

Biography:
In his zone from deep house to techno, Ben Annand pairs impeccably smooth mixing skills with a dynamic style that keeps the music moving, artfully playing with breakdowns and spending most of his time in the mix.
“For me, a great mix is the interplay of 2 unique pieces of music, creating something greater than the sum of the parts - and a great set weaves those mixes into a musical flow you can’t help but lose yourself in on the dance floor.”
Ben fell in love with dancing and rave culture in 1995, and learned to mix in 1996. Just 2 years later he became resident dj at the famed Moontribe Gathering, and started his own production company, Tropical. The first half of his career was mostly focused on DJing abroad, with 13 trips to Moscow’s Propaganda club, travel across Russia, Spain, and Mexico, an appearance at Wiggle at Fabric in London and two at the Labyrinth Festival in Japan.
In more recent years, Ben Annand became a top West Coast festival DJ, and recently played a standout set at his 5th consecutive Lightning in a Bottle (CA). He has also appeared at Sunset Campout and Desert Hearts (CA), Oregon Eclipse (OR), Photosynthesis and Cascadia (WA), Shambhala and Motion Notion (BC, Canada).
As organizer of Tropical, he's donated over $32,000 to charity, hosted zero-waste events in Hawaii, and presented gender-balanced dj lineups.
Whatever his project,, Ben Annand is always contributing, and always thinking outside the box.
