This series is a defense of 'Sola Scritura' at its core and in this episode, the 'purpose and promise' of tongues was examined from 1Cor 14:21-22. In determining the biblical purpose we examine the gift of tongues claimed in this day whether it fits that purpose or not and consequently we determine whether its legitimate or not.

The message to Pergamum, a church that dwelt where Satan dwelt yet was faithful. It is a message written even to us of exorhotation and warning to not stray from the Word and tolerate false teachings and if we did in any way, we are to repent.

The Scriptures being done away with in this era perhaps more than any other time in history with people seeking for extra revelations etc, but, as it is, 2 Tim 3:14-17 is clear. God has spoken, His word is sufficient.

What does it look like for the Christian to stand firm in the Lord?

In a day and age where experience and reason have substituted the word of God in pulpits and homes, there is a need to call people back to the Scriptures. Tonight we begin a new series in defence of the Scriptures!
