Ever wonder what the scene of heaven looks like? On this Father’s Day Sunday, Pastor Adam looks into Revelation 4-5 and the throne room of God. It is a place of worship, majesty and beauty. He will encourage dad’s to teach their kids about God’s holiness by giving them opportunities to experience Him.

I watched the Left Behind movie with Nicolas Cage this past week. I had heard the reviews were not too kind to this movie about the rapture of believers -- only 3.1 out of 10! But I still wanted to see it for myself. I can't say it was Oscar worthy, but it did paint the scene of the rapture coming like a thief in the night. Those are Jesus' words from Matthew 24. "Therefore keep watch, because you do not on what day your Lord will come. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into.So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him." The rapture may sound a little too sci-fi, scary or confusing to you. Nevertheless, it is in the Bible. The same Bible that speaks to us about the love of Christ and His sacrifice on the cross for our sins also speaks of his rapture of believers and return to earth.

You walk outside to your mailbox and start flipping through today's collection. Bill, bill, flyer, credit card application, free vacation scam, sales papers, and then in the back a single envelope. It has the personal touch of being hand written with a seal like no other on the back. You quickly open the envelope to find that it is a letter written to you from none other than Jesus himself! What do you think you'd do with that letter? I don't think it matter who you - sinner or saint - you would carefully read each and every word if Jesus took the time to write you! This scenario happened to seven churches around 90-95 A.D. This letter is included in the book of Revelation. What did Jesus say? Does it have any impact on us today? We'll find out today in Revelation 2-3!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend and a big heartfelt thank you to all who have served or are currently serving our nation! We would not be a country or a church without what you have sacrificed. Today is Compassion Sunday. Compassion International is an organization we support that reaches kids in the neediest places around the world through child sponsorship. Poverty impacts 1 billion children (nearly half of all the world's children). You can change that for one child today. Many of you do sponsor children through Compassion International. I encourage you this long holiday weekend to take a few minutes to sit down and write your child to encourage them and share what God has been teaching you of late. We are looking at a familiar parable in Luke 10 and some guiding words from James 2. Take a moment and mark those spots in your Bible! Have a great weekend!

I am glad you have joined us today for this last week of our series, Before Amen! Do you pray the same way? As in do you start and end with the same words? Today we are talking about that ending... "in Jesus name, Amen." What does that really mean? What are we really saying?

Happy Mother's Day! It is today that we celebrate the 85.4 million moms in the United States! We will spend $671 million on greeting cards, $1.9 billion on flowers, and gifts for a total of $20.7 billion just to say, "Happy Mother's Day!" It's important to say that Happy Mother's Day (HMD if you are texting ...although this is one of those things you should call and not text your mom about!). Your mom knows that you appreciate her, but there is something special about telling her. The same applies to your prayer life with God that we will talk about today.

All-you-can-eat... unlimited data... free refills... all-access... our culture likes the idea of no restrictions! We get excited when we can eat till we can eat no more or google till our hearts content! More than those, we have a God who is limitless. Limitless in power and presence, Yet we have to ask. Today we look at three prayers from King David. I need help. Heal me. Forgive me. God is ready for you to ask.

Have you ever asked yourself, "What's the point? If God is so good, then why do I even bother praying? Does it even do anything?" I think we have all asked a question like that. We know the Bible says that God has ordained all my days for me, so why bother? We will answer that question as we continue today with Before Amen! Every Sunday night at 6:30pm in the church library is our 516 Prayer Gathering. Our prayer times are low on fancy but high in faith and last about 30 minutes. It has been in these times of prayer that God has moved powerfully. You can come and pray silently or out loud, either way I would love to see you there tonight!

Would you want to be part of the Royal Famiy? How about the son or daughter of a president or king? Life sure would be different. You just imagine the access and resources that you would have at your disposal. People would wait days or months to just to get a chance to meet with you dad while you just walk in his office and plop down on his chair! As a follower of Jesus, 1 Peter 2 calls you God's special possession! You are part of the royal priesthood! Do you have any idea the kind of access and resources that you have? The start of Jesus model prayer changed everything in how we relate to God. As they say, it's not what you know... it's who you know!

In this message, we'll look at Joshua's famous last words to his people, the nation of Israel. He makes sure his last words are passionate, wise, and memorable. He has lived his whole life in faithfulness to God--from his report as a spy in Jericho to his leadership over Israel's conquests in Canaan--and he wants to ensure that the people of Israel see how important and beneficial serving the Lord is. Joshua's message was not only powerful for the Israelites of his day, but are also powerful for us in our lives today.
