"Everything human is mentionable and everything mentionable is manageable." - Fred Rogers
I like to say that since we all have minds, mental health awareness is really for all of us. Unfortunately, the stigma surrounding mental health prevents so many individuals from acknowledging what they are dealing with and seeking help. So let's change the conversation and help eliminate the stigma. Fear and shame are two of the main reasons people avoid seeking treatment. Yet, we all have emotional struggles at times - so let's talk about them. As well - let's build our mental wellness, to help us better manage these struggles. Incorporating regular conversations about mental health, what we are struggling with, as well as making seeking help a comfortable and approachable choice as part of our mental wellness is how we break down the judgement and barriers.

Why is self-care important? When it comes down to it, self-care is a necessary part of taking care of ourselves AND those around us. Self -care is not just about massages and makeovers (and is definitely NOT selfish).
Reframe what you think about self-care and how to fit it in your day to day life.
The quick and easy answer is you can’t and you don’t. No one does - even the ones who make it all seem so easy like they have it all together. Life happens to everyone and we all have our own personal struggles that we are dealing with. Letting that mask down, sharing our issues, and finding that connection and security in our shared (and sometimes eerily) similar experiences is how we get through.
