This month, Jon has brought us another stellar mix for America's Freedom 250, July 4th, Independence Day celebration here in the USA. He told us that he just rummaged through his music files, picked some songs he likds and mixed them together. Easy enough formula, right? Jon has thrown in some old tracks, some recent tracks and some new tracks to showcase his historical journey as a DJ. He seemlessly moves through the genres of House and keeps us guessing as to what is coming next. It's 62 minutes of goodness that keeps us wanting more when it ends. Welcome back to another episode of the Best Kept Secret podcast show! It's been a while since we've heard from this month's artist, but finally, the Lockstar's long lost cousin-Shotgun Shirley returns to deliver a cracking mix. She assured me that she hasn't been living under a rock, just surveying the music scene, and keeping busy in the studio working on new tunes. Whatever she's been doing, she hasn't lost her touch. This mix is a mixture of Melodic, Organic and Progressive House that just keeps chugging along, surprising you until the very end. We're glad to have you back, Ms. Shirley. It's been far too long. As always, if you enjoy what you're hearing, like, comment and share! Enjoy the journey.

We lost West Coast House Music legend-DJ Dan on 03/28/26. Back when Jon started getting into the Electronic music scene, DJ Dan was playing music with feel-good vocals, catchy hooks, and recognizable samples. In additoin, he was mixing in funky breaks, tech house, disco and funk with long, seamless blends that kept the energy high. Jon would be heavily influenced by this style that you can still hear in his mixes today. For this month's podcast, Jon wanted to bring you one of his favorite mixes from DJ Dan. his BEATS4FREAKS mix from 1998. Jon was able to find all of the songs DJ Dan used, and has put his spin on the mix for you. It contains so many classic tracks from the time, so if you have never heard the mix, we are sure you will enjoy it. Let's take a trip down memory lane and pay our respects to a true legend-DJ Dan. Rest in Beats!

The Lockstar was in Jacksonville this past weekend headlining the Back 2 The Basics #61 show at the ShantyTown Pub for RedDiamond Promotions and we have the mix for you. He threw a lot of his own Original tunes in there, as well, and one new tune "House Call" that is on Preorder at Beatport right now. We want to thank DJ Red and Diamond for having Jon up again, and we can't wait for the next one! As always, enjoy the journey, and if you like what you're hearing, like, comment and share!

Happy New Year, and welcome back to another episode of the Best Kept Secret podcast show featuring the best tracks in electronic music mixed by the one and only, DJ Jon Lockley. As AI is starting to gain more and more power, the Lockstar thought it would be cool to see how well AI knows the style of DJ Jon Lockley. Jon went to ChatGPT and put in the prompt, "Give me a list of 16 Progressive House tracks DJ Jon Lockley would play in a one hour set. Make sure the next song in the set matches with the track before it on the harmonic scale." Surprisingly, ChatGPT provided songs that pretty much match the style of Progressive House Jon plays. However, ChatGPT did not do so well on the keys of the songs, so Jon had to get those dialed in. I have to say, the mix is good and it sounds very much like a set Jon would play. Ultimately, you can judge for yourself. Let us know in the comments of how well you think AI did in picking the songs for Jon. As always, enjoy the journey and if you like what you're hearing, like, comment, and share! Oh, there's new artwork for the podcast, as well!

This month's mix brings us some nice Melodic and Progressive House. Best to pop your Airpods in, lay back, close your eyes and let this one ride out for its duration. This mix blends deep, progressive grooves with lush, euphoric melodies, soaring synth leads, and heartfelt vocal hooks to create an uplifiing journey through sound. Welcome back to another episode of the Best Kept Secret podcast show feat. DJ Jon Lockley. Jon brings us another special episode this month which showcases some artists from Chicago Skyline Records run by Rich Martinez. The Lockstar figured since he had a tune "Get Down Again" released on CSR earlier this year and has "Out To You" coming out soon, he'd drop a mix featuring tracks from the label. The mix includes Jon's two tracks and he's even thrown in an update of his "In Chicago" track released way back in 2012. It's a wonderful mix that gives you that Chicago House music vibe. House music all night long, baby! As always, if you dig what you're hearing, subscribe, like, comment and share. Enjoy the journey!

Welcome back to another episode of the Best Kept Secret podcast show with your host-DJ Jon Lockley. Last month, Jon decided to bring us a mix of something he had never made before-Drum and Bass. Well, I think he's caught the DnB bug because he's brought us a part II to last month's mix. I'm guessing he had so many tracks that he wanted to share, it just took more than one mix to fit them all in. Hey! We ain't complainin'. And he's included a BRKN DWN DnB track that he whipped up recently. So, buckle up. It's 61 more minutes of the get down with the get down. As always, if you like what you're hearing, like, comment and share. Enjoy the journey!
