WALMART TESTING CASHIER-FREE STORE AMID PANDEMIC
Walmart is testing a cashier-free store that will only have self-checkout at one of its superstores in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
The mega-retailer says it wants to see if checkout times are faster, while at the same time limiting interaction between people in our new coronavirus era.
Workers will still be available to help customers who have trouble doing self-checkout.
If the test is successful, Walmart could expand the program to more stores. This comes after Walmart debuted a touch-free payment system, also with a goal of limiting interaction amid the pandemic.
Do you like the idea of a store without cashiers that only has self-checkout?
Would you miss the human interaction or not?
