CHRISSY TEIGEN HAS QUIT TWITTER -- WHAT ARE THE SIGNS YOU SHOULD TAKE A SOCIAL MEDIA BREAK?
Chrissy Teigen said yesterday (March 24th) that she was quitting Twitter, writing a series of tweets before deactivating her account in which she said, "It's time for me to say goodbye. This no longer serves me as positively as it serves me negatively, and I think that’s the right time to call something."
She stated, "I’ve always been portrayed as the strong clap back girl but I’m just not," and that she's a "different human than I started out here as."
Research has shown that social media use can increase things like anxiety and depression, and USA Today asked experts for what signs to look for to know if it's time for you to take a social media break, or even quit it for good. They are:
If you're comparing yourself to others online
If you're compulsively checking your phone
If your real-life interactions are suffering
If you wake up (or go to sleep) feeling off -- due to what you saw on social media before you went to sleep.
If you start viewing yourself negatively
