Jim Kelly stopped by for his weekly show with us on Morning Bull in preparation for Week 5's matchup versus the COVID-ridden Tennessee Titans, who just yesterday, had a few test positive again! We're not sure what will transpire moving forward with the game if the Titans cannot field their team on Sunday, but we talked about it alittle bit with Jim. Also with Jim, being a very close friend of Eddie Van Halen, we had some time to talk about their friendship throughout the years, especially in the Bills' hayday in the 90's. Back to somewhat regular programming after the sad passing of Eddie Van Halen on Tuesday and the remembrance & memorials we did here on 97 Rock yesterday, we had some really fun and interesting content coming off of some very topical events in the US and world! We had our usual visit with the HOFer #12 Jim Kelly for his weekly show, brand new ACDC music and sound cuts!

After the passing of Eddie Van Halen, us here on Morning Bull started thinking about the impact of celebrity and influential persons deaths', and how they affect us; & for that matter, how we remember them. Some people regard this as the 'where were you' phenomenon in which we wonder how we remember large, impactful & influetial passings or events.

The bassist from Talas and Mr. Big, great friend of the show and Buffalo boy Billy Sheehan joined Morning Bull again, this time to reflect on his time with Talas and their tour in 1979 with Van Halen! He had some cool stories about Eddie to tell as well and we were glad to hear from him as always!

Jeff Criden is a rep from Warner Brothers Records who spent a lot of time on the road with Van Halen from the early 80's to 2000, and he had some great stories to tell about Eddie and his time with the band. There were some pretty cool anecdotal stories about and from Eddie and it really put EVH's personality into perspective.

Noel Monk was manager of Van Halen from 1978 to 1985 and joined us back in 2017 to discuss his book 'Runnin With The Devil', his memoirs of traveling and managing the classic rock quartet. Ringing out around the world yesterday and today is the news of legendary guitarist and 'tapping technique' pioneer Edie Van Halen's death at the age of 65 from a ten year battle with throat cancer, in Santa Monica, California.

Born in 1955 in Holland, he moved to the US in 1962 with his family.

While he was never classically trained on guitar, he also never learned to read or write musical composition. Think thats crazy? His first instrument wasnt even guitar, neither was it his second! He played piano and drums before picking up a guitar and essentially mastering the instrument in his own way.

Eddie mentioned Eric Clapton, Black Sabbath, ACDC & many more legendary artists as huge influences on his own playing; and he, by far, influenced just as many people as his idols did.

With that, not only did we load up the morning with Van Halen tracks, deep and popular, but we had sound from Eddie himself throughout the years. There were also interviews with him & the rest of the band, behind-the-scenes stories and interviews with our own celebrities, jocks & listeners on their memories of the late classic rocker.
