Well, it's all wrapped up and over. What a season! This has been one of Mallory and I's favorite runs of this show in quite some time. Twists, turns, great contestants, good lead. We are thrilled that Katie got her man in the end. Honestly though, we really were just excited to watch all the Greg drama. I mean.....c'mon, Queen Katie went off on him. Though she probably could've held back a teensy bit, she did make super valid points. And I think we all agree that something was weird with that break-up convo from the previous week. Good ole Greg though said he had no regrets, which was interesting.
While we were watching the finale unfold, we sipped on Ketel One Vodka Botanicals: Cucumber and Mint, mixed with some soda water and fresh cucumbers. Light, breezy, refreshing. Since the show was three hours long, we needed something simple that we could drink on all night and not feel gross after. These Botanical blends of Ketel One are perfect for just that.
Thanks for listening all these weeks, we can't wait to dig into Bachelor in Paradise with you all! Cheers
Hometowns....blah blah blah, what can we say right. Katie meets the family's, they do mock hometowns, all the guys are struggling with should I or shouldn't I say I love you. Same old stuff, different day. EXCEPT dear old sad puppy dog Greg. Listen to Mal and I react to Greg's (what we think at least) huger overreaction. I guess when the going gets tough, Greg plays the blame game and runs. Us ladies were not here for it. We get what he was trying to say, but that could have been handled a bit more adult like.
In this weeks episode, we kept it sober....I know I know. It was a long week and an impromptu podcast sesh. We weren't prepared. I guess that means we are drinking doubles Monday night for the big F_I_N_A_L_E. Tune in Monday on Instagram for some live action.
Mallory and I can't even believe we are here! This season has completely blown by and we have loved every minute...well almost every minute. Before we dig in, let's chat about our cocktail of the week...the all new Tanqueray Sevilla Orange mixed with some Fever Tree soda water . We are both gin girls, so it was great finding a fun new summer spin on our classic fave. It was soft, summery, and perfect for sipping out on Mal's patio.
This weeks episode started with some tears and drama with Michael A, I mean we all knew it was coming right?!? And we totally applaud him for putting his son first.
The Men Tell all definitely started out heated, but then just was kinda so so. Our final 3 guys are ready for hometowns, and all rest of the men are in a deep bromance. I think our favorite part was the deleted scenes, even the bloopers were a bit blah.
We can't wait for the next two episodes.....who is it going to be????
Here we are breaking down episode two of the Netflix docu-series, The Innocence Files. This episode will for sure get you a bit teary eyed, so be prepared. Mallory and I also figure out, that from episode 1 to episode 2....we predicted a ton of what was going to happen. I'm sure a police department will be calling us soon for detective positions.
We did both agree that we will be binging the next few episodes, because it's just too good, and then posting as one final podcast for this season of the show. I mean, documentaries just suck you in like that.
Before we sat down to recap this episode, us ladies went the The Laundry in Fenton, MI to enjoy some Christmas in July by indulging in their "Bad Santa" cocktail. Normally this is a once per year drink offering, but due to being shut down for COVID-19 all winter, the fine folks at The Laundry decided it would be fun to bring back this summer. Buffalo Trace bourbon, cranberry-hibiscus syrup, lime, and rosemary all make us gals dream of sugarplums and winter nights.
Now onto the episode...
OMG! This week was full of twists, turns, and super awkward dates. We are absolutely loving the classic layout this season, give us all the rose ceremonies at the end of the episodes. Still loving this season and Katie. Mallory and I are making our predictions for the winner this week so tune in to hear our juicy theories.
As always, subscribe and leave us a review to let us know what you are loving and what you want more of.
From crazy weird challenges, to 5 men going home this week....we felt like this episode would be way more interesting than it really was. I guess we were just looking for the drama, and everything was pretty tame-ish. Is it just Mal and I, or are the men really in their feels this season?! We love it though, and it's refreshing to see some emotion from the guys.
Also....we would love someone to go through and actually count all the names that Connor came up with for "withholding the handshake".
We just started a new Docu-series on Netflix called The Innocence Files. We needed a bit of a break from all things Bachelorette, and wanted to dig into something a bit more real. Gotta break it up a bit. The show is based on a non-profit organization called The Innocence Project, that helps try and free convicted felons from crimes they didn't commit. Disclaimer**This show is very heavy and talks about sex crimes and crimes against children, so be prepared** It will be very interesting to see how the trials play out. It has been super hard just watching one episode at a time, it is definitely binge-worthy.
The Innocence Project is on Instagram, and they are doing amazing work. Worth a follow for sure.
Mal and I are back after taking some time off for the 4th of July. Hear us chat about our vacays, and breakdown this weeks bachelorette episode. Conner is busting out of his shirt again and cuddling up with Greg, while Michael A leaves no dry eye in the house. We love how this week, we finally get a traditional bachelorette episode....I think they brought back the rose ceremony at the end just for us.
This week our booze of choice was Pabst Blue Ribbon's hard coffee line. We tried both options available, the Hard Coffee & Hard Cold Brew. Um....how did we not know hard coffee was thing?! Both were good, but the Hard Coffee was hands down our fave. I definitely see us girls bringing these bad boys on our next weekend away to start off our mornings.
Just finished watching live and wow, could there BE any more drama with Thomas....ugh, we may be over it. Tonight we are drinking the new Brothers Bond Bourbon. If you have ever watched the Vampire Diaries, then you definitely should find yourself a bottle, because it was created by the handsome Salvatore Brothers ( otherwise known as Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley). This bourbon has a lower proof as far as bourbons go, so it doesn't have that intense burn. It's soft, drinkable, and kind of a beginners bourbon if you will. It was a bit tricky to find here in the Mitten State, so keep your eyes peeled for a bottle.
After a little hiatus, us gals are finally back recording. Thanks for your patience, but whew was it a crazy two weeks. We are extremely happy to get back to the podcast though. During our Episode 3 breakdown, we are enjoying a passionfruit and elderflower hard seltzer by Flying Embers. The packaging was gorg, the seltzer drank like a champagne, and it also has probiotics/vitamin C/and antioxidants...its basically healthy booze haha. We both absolutely loved it. Tune in to hear our banter about how someone needs to come up with an alcohol that also kills calories as you drink it. I'm sure it can be done, right?!
