"...out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh." Jesus, in this passage helps us understand that our hearts are revealed in our conversation and words. Our hearts are inevitably manifested in our words.

In this passage we will see that true religion must never be boiled down to a set of rules, that its primary focus ought to be on Jesus, and that this kind of true religion always serves others.

In this beautiful passage, and really the only place in all the Gospel accounts where He opens up His heart to us, Jesus reveals who He is at the core to those who come to Him. You will find that it is not a posture of a pointed finger that He takes, but a posture of open arms from the One who is gentle and lowly.

Jesus, in His earthly ministry, begins to see opposition to both His person and His work. This passage outlines the crticism, dissatisfaction, and outright rejection that Jesus faced, and challenges us to find our satisfaction in Him.
