Did you know there is a substantial number of Bethel family members with physical limitations (temporary or permanent) that prevent them from joining us on Sundays and throughout the week?

Traditionally known as “homebound” or “shut-in”, both of which are inadequate terms because they address people’s limitations rather than their gifts, Bethel’s Care Ministry (aka “BethelCARE”) is a quiet ministry that was created a little over a year ago to reach out to those in our Bethel family who are older, perhaps living alone or in a season of life when physical ailments limit their ability to join us on Sundays.

Our BethelCARE team consists of individuals who make phone calls to some of these folks at a scheduled frequency. When we call, we ask how they are doing and check to see if they have needs that the body of Christ at Bethel can meet. Many of the people we call are Bethel members who actively served here for decades. Now is the time for Bethelites to let them know they are not forgotten. Participating in this ministry is a great way to connect with a lesser seen part of the body of Christ.

We are looking for additional people to add to our team so that the ministry can be expanded to reach out to more people through a monthly commitment.

If you’re a follower of Christ, then you’re all to familiar with the battle that goes on between the Spirit and flesh. The Apostle Paul empathizes in Romans 7, “For what I am doing, I do not understand; for I am not practicing what I would like to do, but I am doing the very thing I hate.” In today’s passage, Paul encourages us that the old self and its practices have been put off, and the new self is free and in Christ.
