    1. Stand up in a world that sits down
    “I will teach you…stories we have heard…stories our ancestors handed to us.” Psalm 78:2
    “Give yourselves completely to God…you want to be tools in the hands of God, to be used for His good purposes.” Romans 6:13
    “Be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind” Romans 12:2
    “The eyes of the LORD search the whole earth in order to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.” 2 Chronicles 16:9
    2. Stand together with each other
    “We will not hide these truths from our children; we will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the LORD, about His power and His mighty wonders.” Psalm 78:4

      1. Sacrifice is necessary when you follow Jesus
      “to give His life a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:28
      “ransom” – the price of release
      “did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped…taking the form of a servant” Philippians 2:7
      “grasped” - possessively holding on to something that is already yours.
      “If anyone wants to follow Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.” Mark 8:34
      “Jesus laid down His life for us” 1 John 3:16

      2. Serve Jesus by serving others
