A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted...

Jeremiah was...no, not a bullfrog. Jeremiah is known as the weeping prophet. 40 years of preaching the same message, repent, only to have the people he loved reject him.

But before any of that happened, God spoke these words to him, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you".

What a promise.  

But what does it mean to be known by God?

Esther knew the danger of entering without being called, without having an invitation.

What's hindering us from accepting the invitation of the King?

And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner...

There is no other way to put it, she was a sinner. We do not know her name, but we know she was a sinner. She knew she was a sinner. Simon knew she was a sinner.

Jesus knew she was a sinner.

Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.

Situations may not be what we imagined, but God is still faithful.

From the ground up, another way of saying from the first step through completion.

Entirely.

From the most basic level to the highest level.

From the very beginning.

From the beginning, we want God to breathe on us so that there will be life.

And Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey; the lad and I will go yonder and worship, and we will come back to you.”

Abraham said, "What good are promises if I don't have any children?"

But, when the children get here, someone has to lead them.

The English word crucifixion comes from the Latin crucifixio, or

crucifixus, the meaning is straight forward enough, "fix to a cross."

Crucifixion was a form of torture and execution used in the ancient

world. It involved binding a person to a wooden post or tree using ropes

or nails.

Why would Jesus tell His disciples, “If anyone has a desire to walk in My shoes, deny yourself and take up your cross and follow Me.”

...therefore will I play before the Lord.

When is the last time you played before the Lord? Celebrated with all that you have? Thrown a party for how amazing He is?

And he must needs go through Samaria.

For 1, He went where others would not. He loved those that others would not. All for 1. Because, 1 matters.
