  • December 2, 2018 – Surviving the Christmas Holiday and still consider yourself a Christian
Today Pastor Ben Kingston brings us a timely Christmas season message to remind us of who this season is about. “The true meaning of Christmas is that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Matthew 2:1-12: “Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet, And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel. Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared. And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also. When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh. And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.”

  • November 25, 2018 – God, Country, Family, and the Grave
Today Pastor Ben Kingston shares with a message of evaluation about what path that we are on.
Deuteronmy 6:1-9 ” Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the Lord your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it: That thou mightest fear the Lord thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son’s son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged. Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the Lord God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey. Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.”

  • November 18, 2018 – Thanksgiving
Today Pastor Ben Kingston shares with us a message about the causes in our lives that lead to ungratefulness and how to change. The bible is a book of thankfulness. The debris of life pile up such as disappointment, depression, discouragement, distrations, habits, etc.
Colossians 3:1-9 “If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;”
I Thessalonians 5:18 “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
How do you deflect the debris? Attitude of gratitude and use your motivational cliches.

  • November 11, 2018 – How to Overcome Sin
Today Pastor Ben Kingston brings us a Veteran’s Day message of encouragement on how to overcome sin from Romans 6:1-11.
“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

  • November 4, 2018 – How to stay in the race
Today Pastor Ben Kingston shares with a message encouraging us to stay in the race. “A willingness to encourage others that are trying, a dogged determination to personally to do the right thing, and a careful watching for those who have quit, is the recipe for us to keep ourselves in the race.”
Hebrews 12:12-17: “Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed. Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.”

  • October 14, 2018 – God’s Discipline
Today Pastor Ben Kingston brings us a message about God’s discipline. Three difficulties that often get confused in Christian Life: Trials, Tests, and Discipline. The third one is in question in this passage.
How to determine if it is discipline?

Ask the Lord, search the scriptures, and ask this question. Is there an area of my life that I know I am in willful disobedience to God’s word, or His will for my Life?
Hebrews 12:5 “And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:”
    Do not forget scripture.

Do not forget these lessons about discipline.
    Lesson 1

Do not lightly regard the discipline of the Lord do not dismiss it disregard it despise it ignore it.

If you do you are condemned to go to the next level of discipline.
    Lesson 2

    Do not faint.

Do not fall apart do not whine and complain.

    Do not quit.

    Do not deny it.

Embrace it, respond to it, and repent.
    Lesson 3

    The benifits of Gods correction.

Hebrews 12:6 “For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.”

    A) It shows Gods love for you.

    B) It corrects you.

    C) But it also identifies you.

You are a child of God!
Hebrews 12:7-8 “If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are yebastards, and not sons.”
    D) It lends to endurance.

God is not done with you. There is worth. There is hope. There is a plan. There is reconciliation.
    E) and proves sonship

God doesn’t discipline me because He needs me but because He loves me. He cherishes me. He is invested in me. And yes He has an assignment for me that requires Holiness.
Hebrews 12:9-10 “Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.”
    F) It teaches subjection that leads to respect and sharing in His holiness. I believe this is the hardest lesson for Americans to swallow.
    Subjection

But this is perhaps the most valuable lesson to be learned from God’s discipline. God does not want your participation
    Your cooperation

And certianly not your opinion. He wants your undeniable unequivocal obedience from a servant who is in total subjection to His power and His will.
Hebrews 12:11 “Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.”
    G) The hardship of discipline results in obedience which results in peace because of righteous behavior.
