    1. Read 1John 2:28.  What are your thoughts and feelings on Jesus’ Second Coming?

     

    1. Why do you think so many American Christians do not care or like to talk about Jesus’ Second Coming?

     

    1. Read Luke 12:35-40.  What is the main point?

     

    1. Read John 14:1-3.  What is the backdrop of these verses?  What is Jesus’ saying in these verses?

     

    1. Read 1 Corinthians 15:51-53.  What are these verses talking about?  What are your thoughts on the rapture?

     

    1. How should Jesus’ Second Coming affect my life now and my decisions (see also Philippians 3:12-14)?

     

    1. Read Luke 12:16-20.  What is Jesus’ point here?  Are you prepared to meet Him?

     

    1.  Are you (really) living expectantly for Jesus’ coming back (talk about the example of dogs.  See also Rev. 22:17-20)?

    “PRACTICE -- PRACTICE -- PRACTICE”

    1. Why is it spiritually necessary to practice? Read Psalms 119:9-16 
    2. Where and how do I start? (Just in case you haven’t done this before.)
      1.  Start praying--communicating with God.  Matthew 6:9
      2.  Focusing on God and His Will.  Philippians 4:8
      3.  Fasting (ouch).  Luke 5:34-35
      4.  Study—careful attention to Scriptures as they apply to you.  Luke 2:46 
    3. How often should I practice?  (How often do you eat?) 
    4. We are in a battle for mind control—what is our defense?  Romans 12:2 
    5. Have you ever tried practicing something and you failed?  Why did you fail?  Romans 8:31-32.  If you gave up on yourself, be rest assured that Jesus has not.  Philippians 4:13
