Meet Mike Rosehart, the self made Real Estate Investor from Ontario, Canada who retired at the age of 25 years old through investing in real estate. Here is his story - enjoy!
Mike Rosehart grew up in a single parent household with poverty-line income, serving paycheck to paycheck. This instilled in him a frugal mindset, while also working part time jobs and saving his income throughout high school. His grades allowed him a scholarship into a prestigious Canadian University, where he used his savings and scholarship money to invest in a multi-family property where he lived in one of the units and rented out the others, known as house hacking. This allowed him to profit $200 every month from his investment, while also having a free place to stay through 2014.
Mike continued saving, eventually landing a $50,000/year job out of University doing management consulting. This led him to purchasing more real estate and slowly improving his cash flow through using the BRRRR Method of real estate investing: Buy, Renovate, Rent, Refinance, Repeat. This snowballed to a 19-property portfolio worth about $5,000,000.
He recently decided to scale down from his portion, profiting over $1,000,000 in equity, while still keeping 7 properties. This has allowed him to retire at the age of 25 years old through real estate investing, while he continues to own real estate and invest passively in Ontario, Canada.
