Does Prophecy Exist Today? To answer that question, we must first ask what the function of prophecy was in both the Old and New Testaments. Many people argue for modern-day prophecy, but they end up defining it almost identical to another word in theology: illumination. Today I talk about the difference, why it matters, and I offer a helpful way to understand the Holy Spirit's ongoing work in us through the reading and study of the word of God.

Sometimes it's hard to read the Bible because we don't understand the structure of the Bible. Most people know that the books of the Bible are not listed in chronological order, but how many people know that there is a rhyme and reason to the way the books are comprised? To put it simply, our Bibles are comprised by genre, just like a library. Christianity as a worldview answers the basic questions of reality, humanity, death, knowledge, morality, history, and the core commitments necessary to live in response to that worldview. As a worldview, Christian theism is logical, comprehensive in scope, and consistent in its conclusions. The answers to life are best answered in Christian theism, the only worldview in touch with the grandeur of God.
