We'll discuss the differences between this movie and the original film it's based on. Finally, listen to us pitch our wild alternate version of this film where Joe is the lead detective and also the criminal.

This week's episode is on the family-friendly horror film (we didn't know that was a genre) Nightbooks available on Netflix. We discuss the tone and pacing as well as the personality of the lead characters. And since the movie is adapted from a book, we speculate what parts may have been better in the original form.

In today's episode, we are discussing the horror film Malignant (2021) available currently in theaters and HBO Max. Audiences are divided on whether this movie is good, and we certainly have varying (maybe even surprising) opinions as well. Is it a cult classic in the making or is it just too ridiculous to be considered a good movie?

For this week's episode we review the movie Kate (2021), currently streaming on Netflix. We highlight some of the great action scenes within cool settings, but also point out how there are at least 9 other assassin/revenge type movies that follow the exact plot. The only unanswered question: where can we find that boom boom lemon drink?

We made it to the end of the first season! In this episode we're switching up the format and doing a debate show. The reviewers will each debate their points in 5 different rounds. The catch is they can only choose their answer from the list of movies we've watched this season. The categories include best villain, best action scene and much more. In this week's episode we examine the film Inception (2010), available on Amazon Prime. We determined that while the movie has some ambiguous plot points and a few heavy-handed exposition dumps, it is an example of a really good movie. We point out other concepts that could have been explored with with dream building and how this movie excels where other Christopher Nolan films (ahem, Tenet) may have missed the mark.

In this week's episode we discuss the 2010 film Scott Pilgrim vs The World, which is currently streaming on Netflix. We've watched so many not so great movies we took a shot at watching one that we all enjoy. As we walkthrough this movie we discover what makes this movie so entertaining, how easily this movie takes bring an outrageous concept to life and why this movie still works to this day. Also, one of us is isn't a fan of Michael Cera as Scott Pilgrim.

In this week's episode we discuss the 2006 action film Ultraviolet, which is currently available to watch on Starz. We gotta be honest--this was a really bad movie, but we try our best to make sense of what could be described as a mix of Kill Bill, The Matrix, Aeon Flux, and maybe Blade? There were several questions we just couldn't answer such as why Violet's hair and clothes sometimes change colors and why the villain wore nose plugs?  Plus, one of us is bothered by the fact that the vampire-like hero doesn't have fangs or drink blood.
