In the First Century, some in the Roman church were excited about their freedom from the commandments of old, while others still wanted those commandments strictly obeyed. This infighting compelled the Apostle Paul to write the book of Romans, urging both sides to understand they are better together if they celebrate both the reality that they are free from the religious commandments but also free to do good.
