Congress keeps voting to raise their pay to adjust for inflation while supporting legislation that perpetuates the recession. Should congress have the ability to raise their pay? Should politicians make $200,000 PLUS benefits? Should congress be allowed to trade stock when they pass the policies that shape our economy? We discuss all that and more!

It's a Constitutional Convention! Welcome to the limited series Blueprint, a collaboration between Ryan and Ken from Taboo Topic. This series is designed to envision a smaller federal government that is limited in power and scope, much like the founding fathers originally intended. Each week Ryan & Ken take one issue they see with the current government and discuss it, then they propose a constitutional amendment to rectify the situation. At the end of this series they will finalize their amendments and you will have the opportunity to ratify them (follow our social medias so you don't miss the vote!). $87 Billion is earmarked for "tax revenue loss recovery efforts" by Senate Democrats. The bill also has restrictions of fixing "fair" medical prices. The government is also setting restrictions on prescription drugs; fixing prices and limiting contracts so that only select companies will be able to manufacture/sell, and cap insulin prices (but only for ppl on Medicare/Medicaid). Democrats pass a MASSIVE spending bill in the Senate with Kamala Harris as the tie-breaker vote. It's got so much jammed into it that we need multiple segments to cover it all. Join Ryan as we unpack whats in this bill and what exactly it will do. This episode covers Sections 1 & 2: the tax reforms and tax increases Democrats need to fund the rest of this 755 page bill. These sections of the bill address raised taxes on corporations, raised taxes on individuals (not just the ultra wealthy), and adjusted taxes on stock exchange. The burning question as we read this: why are we raising taxes in the middle of a recession?? Tune in and help decide whether this bill will actually reduce inflation.

Boldly going where several podcasts have gone before, we discuss the privatization vs public exploration of space. Throughout history most government missions have focused on exploration, research, and technological advancement rather than resource gain. Exploration missions and R&D missions can take decades to pay off if they ever do. In this sense space efforts for private companies have been lacking in the past, but now three major industries drive private efforts. Satellites, Tourism, and Mining.
