Should the states be in control of their own elections? Does the Federal government have the right to arbitrarily step in and override state election laws? Would federalizing voting laws require a constitutional amendment? Check out our full takes!
Today we discuss the two bills that died in the U.S. Senate seeking to federalize the election process -- the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act & the Freedom to Vote Act. Join us as we unpack how these bills would have affected the election process if they had passed. The bills may be dead but the larger push by Democrats to federalize all elections, making the states answerable to the DOJ, is very much alive. Therefore these concepts are likely to return in future legislation in an effort to standardize election procedure.
Should the states be in control of their own elections? Does the Federal government have the right to arbitrarily step in and override state election laws? Would federalizing voting laws require a constitutional amendment? We discuss that and more!

Should members of Congress be able to trade stocks when they are the ones passing legislation that influences the market? Our full takes are now streaming!
Congress passes laws and shapes policies that influence the economic market. Most (if not all) members in the House and Senate have significantly invested in the stock market, increasing their personal portfolio with insider information. There are two bills on the Senate floor aimed at overseeing the stock trading of Congress members. Should members of our government be allowed to trade stocks when they are the ones passing policies that influence how the market will perform? Is this a conflict of interest? We discuss that and more!

Join us Saturday at noon central for our next discussion!
We’re back for the new year! Democrats commemorate January 6th and use it as a springboard for their "voter reform" agenda--which is a complete overhaul and federalization of state voting laws and procedures. Our episode today focuses on recapping the storming of the capital on January 6th 2021, unpacking the aftermath, and discussing how it has been the rally cry for democrats to cover the fact they have accomplished very little since taking control of the House, Senate, and Presidency. Are congressional Democrats in for a bruising in the 2022 midterm elections? Does January 6th justify the nationalization of voter laws? Is the January 6th Committee a partisan attempt by Democrats to eliminate political opponents? We cover that and more!
