Bev has been practicing dental hygiene for over 30 years. Her love for her profession has allowed her to travel down many roads. Bev was instrumental in developing a private career college for dental hygiene in eastern Ontario as well as opening her own dental hygiene office in 2009. Bev has just completed a 3 year council position with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO) as well as President for the Bay of Quinte Dental Hygienists Society.

The Canadian Dental Hygiene Association (CDHA) presented Bev with the Award of Merit for her voluntary and meaningful contribution to dental hygiene and her community on a regular basis in a selfless, professional manner.

Bev is the co-owner of IDHA, Independent Dental Hygiene Associates, which travels throughout Canada providing hands on Boot Camp Seminars on the "Truths" about opening and running a successful dental hygiene business. Bev is also a dental hygiene business consultant to provide motivation and business advice to Independent dental hygiene business owners.

Bev is a public speaker and enjoys sharing her journeys with dental hygiene students and seasoned Registered Dental Hygienists.

Bev's passion to ensure no one goes without dental hygiene care led her to found the "Gift from the Heart" event in 2008. This is a one day event where dental hygienists in Canada open not only their offices but their hearts to provide "FREE" dental hygiene care to those in their communities who need it the most. The "Gift from the Heart" is now a National Event and is the launch to National Dental Hygiene Week all across Canada. Because of the amazing generosity of hundreds of Dental hygienists from coast to coast in Canada the "Gift from the Heart" has provided over 1 million dollars of free dental hygiene care in 9 short years.

The highlight of Bev's career came this past February when she was selected by the International Federation of Dental Hygienists (IFDH) to represent Canada at a Global Social Responsibility Conference this July in Florence, Italy. The "Gift from the Heart" project was selected as a recipient of the Global Child Dental Fund.
