We took a break from our "One Week" sermon series to reflect on what does it mean to be the people of God in a time of a global pandemic. Rev. On Ash Wednesday, we gathered to begin the journey to Jerusalem and the period of reflection known as Lent. This 40-day season of prayer and renewal is intended to prepare our hearts for the celebration of Jesus' resurrection. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of that journey with a calling to repent of our sin and reflect upon our walk with God.

In this Ash Wednesday sermon, Rev. Shannon Blosser focuses on Joel 2:1-2, 12-17 and its call for the community to participate in a period of reflection and renewal as it seeks to grow in faith.

This week's sermon continues our look at Matthew 5 and how God calls us to be faithful in the challenging moments of life. Our passage comes from Matthew 5:21-26. Rev. Shannon Blosser looks at how Jesus calls us to seek reconciliation when we have been hurt or have hurt someone.

Throughout the month of February, our sermons will focus on passages found within the Sermon on the Mount and what they say to us in living out our faith in difficult moments. This series of teaching, from Matthew 5-7, is where Jesus announced what was expected of those who sought to follow him.
