In this new segment/series, Allen and I will take the word we use during the Word of the Week segment and talk about how it is applied in our daily living.  This week we discuss Salvation and what it looks like to have eternal salvation and to live with eternal salvation daily.  We should not take our salvation for granted.  The mere fact that God sent His son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins, which would reconcile us to Him will never be enough for us to bring glory to Him every day.

Salvation is the key to the Christian's life and the life of living for Jesus.

In today's episode Allen and I talk about how distracting things can be - especially current events.  Ever amazed, like we are, how easy it is to get distracted by things that aren't of God?  The media does a good job of it, churches do a good job of it and our lives are filled with it.  

We get distracted because we allow it to happen.  Less than 50% of church attendees read their Bible outside of church.  FACT!  Plenty of churches encourage bible reading, in services, but most don't even provide a means for bible studies, small groups or discipleship programs.  If your church isn't providing or encouraging these methods - ask why not!

One of the ways your relationship with God will flourish is by getting in His Word.

Start spending more time on a relationship that will last longer than a lifetime!!!!

UPDATE 08/24/2021 - In this episode Bill states that a church that he recently attended did not allow secular movies or music - what he meant by this statement was this - that they suggest to their members/visitors that they not watch movies with content that is profane, vulgar, horrific, violent or sexual in nature.  A lot of worldly or secular movies would not be watchable according to their suggestions.

Denominational division is a result of doctrinal change that is created by man.

Man created denominations - and man will teach you why their 'religion' IS the 'religion' for you and why it is better than every other 'religion'.  

Religion is the surface and a relationship with God is the substance.

A relationship with God is based on your knowledge of the Bible, inspired by the wisdom of God, through an understanding of the Holy Spirit.

A relationship with God must include a biblical doctrine based on truth; not the subjective, contextualized, interpretation of man.

***Update - my comments on apologetics (defending the faith) may come across in a way that is different from what I portrayed.  Apologetics is necessary in the process of conversion and for defending the Christian faith when needed.  We should all be ready to defend our faith, biblically.  I only meant that I am not as astute in this area as some, although I believe I can hold my ground.  I believe wholeheartedly in the apologetics movement and that it is absolutely necessary in the Christian faith.

We do NOT believe in a watered-down doctrine, ecumenicalism or that all religions and denominations are created equal.  Do you homework, research what you base your relationship with God on and read your Bible.  There are great resources out there - but you should always, always, always know what you are looking at, reading and listening to.

Don't let the title fool you - we don't have all the answers, not even most of them, but the Bible does.  In this episode, Allen and I discuss what it takes to raise children that have a good foundation and are grounded in God's word.  Just like most of our other episodes it takes us a while to get on track, we lost track and then we try and recover.
