Two years ago, it all looked perfect. The biggest name in boxing and the biggest budget in boxing were united and this should have supercharged the sport of boxing.

Two years later, the relationship is seemingly over and both parties seem glad of the freedom.

Will this be the move that ensure Canelo of a lucrative future and will this be the chance for DAZN to reset.

Autumn has seen chaos in the heavyweight division. Fights cancelled, COVID infections and PPV fights are debatable at best.

In all of this, the one thing that made fans smile was the return of Don king to the front line of boxing. He showed that he's still got it, even in his 80s.

By the end of the year, we will be no closer in knowing who the best challengers to Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury are.

Boxing should be better.

Canelo, Golden Boy and DAZN are at war. This has been comin for somewhen you unpick the story, you look at two parties, Canelo and Golden Boy, that feel they could do better business together than with Oscar De La Hoya.

The aim here is surely to put Canelo in position to control his destiny, income, and legacy. The reality is that DAZN need him more than Oscar and Canelo will never get a better contract in the current climate. SO, here is to a DAZN future without Oscar.

Dillian Whyte's career has been a fairy tale so far. From being the guy watching his mates box in York Hall in a silver jacket to being one of the main men in heavyweight boxing, all in under 10 years.

He boxed well on Saturday and looked as good as he has done. However, at the real elite level, the sport of boxing is about doing more things right than your opponent. It is also about doing those things year-in, year-out, for years.

Povetlin has done that for as long as Dillian has been alive and it is this time spent doing the right things that was the real difference on Saturday.

It is often a gap you cannot close easily, but sadly for British boxers, a lot of trainers do not understand it.

Just some of my thoughts as I start to come out of hibernation.
