Imagine if we started working for something real and true and eternal, rather than the temporary things of this world.

Imagine if we locked our eyes on the Kingdom of God and didn’t look back.

We would change the world.

The Gospel of Social Distancing - June 7, 2020

Luke 17: 11-19

Are we allowing our sense of righteousness, and the religious things we do, to distance us from the very mission Jesus left us with? 

Are we losing our humility in our quest to please God, missing the big picture of reaching those he’s called us to reach, and instead expecting God to bless us because of the religious things we’ve done?

There is nothing we can do to add value to ourselves in the eyes of God.

We need to take the resurrection message, the new life God has given us, and give it to others.

Who Are You Faithful To? - May 17 2020

Luke 16: 10-18

 

Humility is cornerstone to us. It’s the key to our faithfulness to God. It’s the ultimate expression of our trust in Him.

We gladly give him all of us, knowing he is faithful and true and loves us beyond measure.

Until we start talking about our money.

Jesus said you can’t serve wealth and God - you can’t be faithful to two masters.

Our wealth is a tool to serve. A door to fulfilling the great commission and taking the message of Jesus to our community. A way to build relationships and impact eternity.

Finding Focus in Anxiety

Philippians 4: 4-13

 

In this moment, with so much going on around us, it’s easy to be anxious, to be worried, to let things get away from us, to let our minds take us away from who and what we are. To lose sight of the things that are true and perfect and real.

But we are the church. We are His people. And we have a mandate - to not only take care of each other and those around us, but to take care of ourselves - our mental well-being. 

Paul gives us a key to keeping our focus where it should be in his letter to the Christians at Philippi - something to keep our minds clear and our hearts steady in times when our circumstances declare otherwise.

The Prodigal Son - April 26, 2020 

Luke 15: 11-24

Why is humility the foundation of Salvation? What makes it so important to our faith?

Humility is the image of Jesus.

Jesus humbled himself out of love us. He left his reputation at the foot of a Roman cross and was murdered for our eternity. 

His love for us exceeded his reputation.

When rock bottom meets our reality, when we realize our worthiness will never be enough, we begin to see Jesus for who he was, what he gave up, and what draws him to us.

Come to your senses.

Come to the Father.

Come to the table.

Why Humility? - April 19, 2020

Humility is the foundation of Salvation. 

None of this matters without that foundation. It’s all temporary and broken and lost until we humble ourselves and realize we’re nothing and nowhere without Jesus.
