In this one, we tackle the third Jordan Peterson/Sam Harris debate before we have a broad conversation about the Black Lives Matter movement. Surprisingly, this ends up being our longest episode. A lot of back and forth and potentially controversial takes, but that's the whole point of going beyond talking points!

In this episode, Matthew takes the lead to discuss why he's not ready to pull the lever for Joe Biden. We discuss why he sees Biden and Bernie differently and what can Biden more appealing to vote for. Also, we end up talking about the utility of protesting, which unintentionally became relevant (this was recorded before the riots in Minnesota on 5/27).

This week, we broadly discuss politics and feminism in movies, starting with a movie we both saw - The Girl on the Third Floor. We discuss when we think it's acceptable to push an agenda and the varying degrees of heavy handed preaching in different films.

In potentially my favorite episode yet, we start by talking about the death penalty, but then we break off into several loosely related topics. State abuse of power, jury trials, lying cops, Duncan Lemp, retribution, restorative justice, free will, determinism, revenge, the value of human life, and pretty much every other thing we could think of. And to think we only planned on spending the first 15 minutes of this episode on the death penalty!

Matt and Matthew discuss the pros and cons of democracy as a political system. A lot of substantive disagreements in this one, but overall an interesting topic. Constitutions, enfranchisement, political parties, and education are all touched on.

We watched a Waco documentary and that springboarded us down half a dozen rabbit holes. End up talking about guns, thought crime, religion, Islam, and the rule of law. There's just a lot of stuff here. But we both agree the ATF is garbage. Enjoy!

A fun return to podcasting! Matthew talks about his grievances with Biden, Matt Keck goes on random tirades and picks several liberty vs. statism fights, and coronavirus is the backdrop of some of the discussion. Tough questions and a lot of disagreement. Should be back regularly starting next week!
