  • Season 5 Episode 2 The Middle is Holy - When God is Silent but not Still
Not every season of faith comes with clarity and fireworks. Sometimes God feels quiet—and yet life keeps asking for trust. In this episode, we talk about discerning God’s activity when there’s no clear instruction and no fresh word. It’s a conversation about learning to trust who God is when His voice feels silent, and discovering that quiet seasons may hold deeper work than we realize.

Together with my friend Jadyn Walker, we discuss how faith grows in the in-between spaces, how to recognize the quiet ways God may still be moving, and why trusting His character becomes so important when we don’t have new answers.

  • Season 5 Episode 1 The Middle is Holy
We tend to celebrate beginnings and long for endings—but most of life is lived in the middle. The in-between seasons. The waiting. The unfinished stories where prayers are still unanswered and clarity feels just out of reach.

In this opening episode of Season 5, we’re naming a sacred truth we often overlook: the middle is holy. Scripture is filled with holy middle places.

    * Jesus came from Judah—a middle son, not the firstborn.
    * He was crucified between two criminals, suspended in the space between heaven and earth.
    * God’s people walked on dry ground in the middle of the Red Sea and later crossed the Jordan the     same way—not at the edge, but in the center of the miracle.

Again and again, God does His most formative work not at the start or the finish, but in the process. This Season of Beyond the 12, we’ll talk about waiting without wasting the season. About hidden growth, quiet endurance, and trusting God when life feels unresolved. About honoring the sacredness of unfinished things. • Season 4 Bonus - When Life Hits Hard
Season 5 will launch right on schedule — but the bonus conversations between season 4 and 5 have taken a little longer. In this heartfelt episode, I share why. After the passing of my mom, I entered a season of grief that slowed everything down. Instead of pushing through, I chose stillness — and discovered that God meets us most tenderly in the middle of our doubt, confusion, and questions. In this episode, you’ll hear:
    • What grief actually feels like beneath the surface
    • How joy can anchor us even when emotions fluctuate
    • What the Bible says is still true about us as believers during hard seasons
    • Why productivity is not proof of purpose
This is not a polished conversation about having it all together. It’s an invitation to find steady hope when life feels rearranged. If you’re walking through loss or wondering where God is in your quiet season, this episode might encourage you today.

  • Season 4 Episode 11 Navigating The Unknown - Relationships
In this episode, I sit down once again with John Ostenson to talk about the relationships that shape our lives—quietly, consistently, and sometimes with a bit more challenge than we’d care to admit. John brings the kind of wisdom that doesn’t chase trends but leans into what has always mattered: trust, commitment, and the courage to show up for the people God’s placed in our path. Together we explore how to build stronger connections, how to mend the ones that feel strained, and how to honor the steady, faithful work of loving others well.

There’s no fluff here—just honest conversation, a few smiles, and practical steps for strengthening the bonds that hold us. If you’ve been longing for a reminder that healthy relationships are still possible—and worth the investment—this episode may be exactly what your heart’s been waiting for.

  • Season 4 Episode 10 Navigating The Unknown - Moving
This episode didn't go off the way I planned—but maybe that’s exactly why it needed to happen this way. Today I’m talking about what happens when plans fall apart and God changes the route. From my own moving stories to lessons from the Israelites’ long journey, I’ve learned that even when life feels uncertain, God’s faithfulness travels well. You’ll also hear about my friends Holly and Kellie, both of whom discovered that God’s hand is steady even when everything else shifts. If you’re surrounded by boxes—literal or emotional ones—this episode will remind you that peace is still possible in the middle of the move.

  • Season 4 Episode 9 Navigating The Unknown - Education
In this episode of Beyond the 12, I sit down with Brigid Enchill — a Professor of French at the University of Kansas and a doctoral student — to talk about what it means to live out your calling in education while staying rooted in faith. Brigid opens up about the tension and beauty of pursuing excellence in academia while keeping her spiritual walk front and center. Together, we explore how faith shapes the way we teach, lead, and encourage others in their own educational journeys. Brigid’s story reminds us that the classroom can be a place of ministry, and that God is present even in the pursuit of degrees, deadlines, and dissertations — guiding us through every unknown. And through a plot twist, we find that perhaps inviting some unknown might be a welcomed gift.

  • Season 4 Episode 8 Navigating The Unknown - Health
When the diagnosis hits, when the healing seems delayed, when your body doesn’t do what it used to — where is God in all of it?

In this powerful and tender conversation, I sit down with my dear friend Laura Roth to explore how faith sustains us through health challenges. Together, we open up about fear, prayer, and the surprising ways God meets us in weakness and pain. If you’ve ever wrestled with uncertainty about your health or wondered how to trust God when your strength is fading, this episode will remind you that Jesus not only heals — He weeps with us and walks with us through every step.

  • Season 4 Episode 7 Navigating The Unknown - Faith 2.0
Sometimes, in our pursuit of growth, we move so fast that we lose sight of the very foundation we’re standing on. In this episode, we pause… and return to the heart of it all: faith. “Faith 2.0” isn’t about new tricks or flashy upgrades. It’s about rediscovering the simple, steady trust in God that anchors us when life is uncertain. We revisit what it truly means to believe in Him and walk as His disciples—not just with words, but with surrendered lives. If your faith has felt hurried, crowded, or distant lately, this conversation invites you to slow down, breathe deep, and remember why you started this journey in the first place.

  • Season 4 Episode 6 Navigating The Unknown - Grief
Grief has a way of stopping us in our tracks. It’s tender, raw, and often shows up when we least expect it. In this episode, I sit down with Pam Kueffer, a woman whose story is marked by profound loss — having tragically lost two children, one as a toddler and one as an adult. Yet every time Pam speaks, wisdom flows like a river in the desert.

Together, we walk through the realities of deep sorrow, the unexpected places where God shows up, and how faith can hold us steady when life breaks our hearts. This is a sacred conversation — honest, gentle, and full of hope for anyone who has found themselves in the valley of grief.
