Results are easy to get attached to — especially as athletes.
In this episode, I share an analogy from the world of sales that perfectly explains why chasing results alone can be so dangerous for long-term performance and confidence.
Even great salespeople don’t “win” every month. Some months their hit rate is high, others it’s low — and the best ones understand something critical:
👉 You can’t judge your value or your process based on short-term outcomes.
The same applies to cycling and sport.
As athletes, there are things we can control:
• Our preparation
• Our consistency
• Our recovery
• Our effort
• Our mindset
And there are things we can’t control:
• Weather
• Competition
• Course dynamics
• How others show up
If you’ve done the work and executed the process, the result is only feedback — not a verdict.
This video is about learning to stay grounded, confident, and focused on the long game — especially during the months or races that don’t go your way.
If you’re an athlete who’s ever felt frustrated, discouraged, or overly attached to results… this message is for you.
