Beyond the Building

On this week's episode Ian, Kayce, Kyah, Carter and Ben discuss their takeaways from the Compass Worship teaching delivered by Courtney Middlesworth. We focused on how God throughout history has been pointing toward our redemption and longing for us to come home with Him to embrace the fullness of our identity in His family.

This week we again recorded the Compass Worship teaching so that all our listeners could be connected with this weeks teaching. We looked at the life of Peter, specifically at the interaction that he had with Jesus after having denied Him three times. From that interaction we learned that our failures are not the end of our story, rather they are an opportunity for God to show us His grace, and desire to empower us to continue to do His work, growing His Kingdom.

This week with the majority of our students being on Christmas break we decided to record the Compass Worship teaching so that all our listeners could be connected with the teaching. We plan to do this over the course of Christmas break in hopes that after you listen you will continue the conversation with those around you. So you won't hear any discussion rather you can create your own discussion after listening to the teaching.

This week Jeff, Katelyn and Stella discuss their takeaways from Compass Worship. As we continued our Advent series we were reminded that Christmas is not our birthday. We looked at the origin of gifts from the Wise Men and discussed what Jesus may have on His Christmas list this year. A couple suggestions were: To give generously beyond ourselves, to give an invitation for someone to attend a Christmas service, and to give yourself.

This week Ian, Selah, Angie and Jeff discuss their takeaways from Compass Worship. We started a short series about practicing Advent. This week we saw that we have from Day 1-24 to prepare for a very special guest and we should be doing everything we can in our lives to make sure we are ready to celebrate His arrival. We looked specifically at John 1:1-14, and would encourage you to read these verses and to seek the majestic in the mundane so you don't miss out on Christ this Christmas.

This week Lucas, Angie, Lake, Jordan and Joe discuss their takeaways from Compass Worship. We continued our series on the book of Acts looking at Acts 2:42-47 and talking about how the people continued to move the gospel message of Jesus after they believed, repented and were baptized. We saw from these few passages that it takes devotion to God's Word, learning what Jesus did and then doing it. We also saw the people were united in a common belief, they shared life together and they were devoted to going to the Father in prayer.

This week Lucas, Caleb, Carter, Leah and Naomi discuss their takeaways from Compass Worship. We continued our series on the book of Acts looking at Acts 2:22-41 and talking about the biblical response to hearing the gospel message of Jesus. We learned that when people are captivated by the truth of the gospel, they responded to that belief by repenting and surrendering in baptism.

Enjoy this special edition of Beyond the Building as Jeff, Angie, Paige, Brooke and Amaya give you a few highlights from this years Compass Girls Conference This year the theme was Under Pressure and it focused on 2 Corinthians 4:8-12. Through the course of the day we saw that pressure, even when it isn't fun, or easy can forge us into a position with Christ that will give us the power to not just endure but live as more than conquerers.
