  • Psalm 1

Listen to this weeks Compass Worship teaching and then stay tuned for our usual conversation led by Ian with Owen and Selah as they share their takeaways from the teaching. This week we began our Psalms of Summer series by looking at Psalms 1 and seeing that happiness/contentment isn't necessarily inevitable but it also isn't unattainable. Happiness and contentment is possible when we delight in and meditate on God's word trusting that His way is the way and that He alone is able to provide all we need through every season to be content and happy.

  • Unwavering Week 4

Listen to this weeks Compass Worship teaching and then stay tuned for our usual conversation led by Ian Brookshire. Ian, Miranda and Daniel will share their take aways from teaching as we looked at Daniel 10. Through this event in Daniel's life we learned that while we are waiting God is working. We were reminded that our God is a lifter, He lifts us when we are weak. We were reminded that we are precious to Him and that from the first moment that we pray He begins working. Though we may not see what is being done we trust that He is fighting our battle in a spiritual realm and can trust that He is with us and for us and that He is moving on our behalf.

  • Unwavering Week 3

This week we have started our summer at Compass by posting our Compass Worship teaching and our usual conversation led by Ian Brookshire and crew. We are in week 3 of our Unwavering Series and we looked at Daniel 3 and the Unwavering Faith of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego as they faced a fiery trial. We learned that their faith in the One True God helped them stand tall in the midst of the unknown. As we journey through the fiery trials of life it would be good of us to remember that we have a God who can, a God who will, and even if He doesn't, He is still worthy of our Unwavering Faith in Him. Enjoy the Compass Worship teaching and stay tuned for Ian, Grant and Micah as they share their takeaways from this week.

  • Unwavering

This week Ian, Bri, Grace, Claire, Hailey, Alli and Kari share their take aways from the Compass Worship teaching. We are in week 2 of our Unwavering Series and this week we focused on Daniel 6 and how we can live Unwavering when under attack. We saw through the life of Daniel that even when we are under attack we can be confident in who our God is. Daniel showed this through serving God with integrity, trusting Him consistently, and honoring Him faithfully. Because of Daniel's Unwavering faith kings and kingdoms were impacted and were able to see who the One True God is that is worthy of our praise.

  • Jude

This week Ian, Bobby, Kayce and Jeff share their thoughts from this week's teaching from the book of Jude. In Jude's letter to believers he seeks to rally the people to "contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God's holy people." He pleas with the people, with us, to angonize for, fight for the unchanging truth of the gospel not allowing people to sneak in and twist truth and abuse God's grace. As he points out the consequence that awaits the false teachers, he gives us practical things we can do to uphold the faith. Build ourselves up in Truth (know His word). Pray in the Holy Spirit (pray that God's will not ours be done and desired). Remain in God's Love (keep ourselves committed to the truth of His love). When we do those things we are able to approach doubters and people with skewed views of the faith with mercy, desiring not to judge or condemn but to help them come to know the Truth.

  • Easter Sunday, He is Risen!!

This week Ian, Jeff and Nate discuss their takeaways from this week Compass Worship teaching. As we celebrated Easter together we were reminded that because the tomb was empty and because Jesus was alive we can have confidence in our position with God, and our ability to overcome sin and live our lives surrendered and glorifying to Him. We looked Matthew 27-28 as well as Paul's words in Romans 10:9-10 and Romans 6:3-9.

  • Faith Over Fear

This week Ian, Emily, Nate and Lauren share their thoughts from this week's teaching. We had a guest speaker, Brayden Cromwell teach us about living with Faith over Fear. Brayden showed us examples through the Old and New Testament how to live in the faith of who God is, and how to allow that faith to carry you through every situation where fear could stop us from being who God created us to be.

  • When "Self-Love" Becomes Selfish.

This week Ian, Amaya, Trenner, and Addison share their thoughts from this week's teaching. There are so many phrases, ideas or beliefs in our culture today that sound like they kinda sorta could be true but in reality they aren't true at all. In fact many of them are in direct opposition to God's Word. This week we looked at the idea of self-love or self care. We talked about our natural inclination to be selfish and that while we all need some time to reset, if that time is only for ourselves and not so that we can love God and love others than our self-love can quickly just become selfishness.
