In September 1978, Caroline Spencer, a 32-year-old nurse, was hired to care for Emily Harper, a 26-year-old woman bedridden with a mysterious illness at Greythorne Hall, a secluded manor owned by the wealthy Harper family. Initially, Emily’s symptoms seemed medical, but disturbing signs emerged: guttural chuckles in a male voice, speaking in unknown languages, and unnatural strength. Caroline witnessed Emily muttering in Latin, scratching occult symbols on her arms, and reacting violently to religious objects. The manor itself grew eerie, with unexplained footsteps, moving objects, and a pervasive sense of being watched.

Paranormal stories involve events or experiences that are unexplained by science and often involve supernatural elements. These stories frequently feature ghostly apparitions, unexplained noises, or the displacement of objects.

The "Mr. Entity" case refers to the purported haunting of the Moffitt family, who claim to have been terrorized by a supernatural entity for over six years, primarily during the late 1980s and early 1990s. The entity, known as Mr. Entity, allegedly targeted the family, particularly Deborah Moffitt, with claims that she was promised to him centuries ago as a sacrifice according to a book about the haunting.

Elizabeth Ann Smart, aged 14, was kidnapped on June 5, 2002, by Brian David Mitchell from her home in the Federal Heights neighborhood of Salt Lake City, Utah. She was held captive by Mitchell and his wife, Wanda Barzee, on the outskirts of Salt Lake City, and later, in San Diego County, California. Her captivity lasted approximately nine months before she was discovered in Sandy, Utah, approximately 18 miles (29 km) from her home.

Smart was abducted at knife-point by Mitchell, while her younger sister, Mary Katherine, pretended to be asleep. Mitchell, who claimed to be a religious preacher,[1] held Smart at a camp in the woods with Barzee, where he repeatedly raped her. During her captivity, Smart accompanied her captors in public on various occasions dressed head-to-toe in white robes and went largely unrecognized by those she came in contact with.

After her rescue, Smart became an advocate for missing persons and victims of sexual assault. Barzee was sentenced to fifteen years in federal prison in 2009 for her role in the abduction, although she was granted early release on September 19, 2018, for previously uncredited time served.[3] Mitchell was diagnosed by forensic psychologists as having antisocial and narcissistic personality disorders. Extensive disputes over his competence to stand trial lasted several years before he was deemed mentally capable in 2010; he was sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole in 2011.

The building was still being used as a jail right up until the early 20th century. 

One recent previous owner was Vanessa Mitchell.

When Gary was 10 years old, he met the Devil. To be sure, the Devil did not introduce himself as such and the boy was too young to recognise him for what he was.

Gary lives in a sleepy Ulster town and in the spring of 2004, as he was making his way home from school, something told him not to take his customary route but to veer down a footpath that runs alongside a small river.
