On this episode of the Beyond the Helmet we are joined by former NFL receiver and NCAA QB, Bert Emanuel Sr. Before you read any further, please give us a follow/subscribe and leave us a 5 star review!
While the college scene is getting ready for Bert Emanuel Jr to storm onto the scene, Bert Emanuel Sr. know a thing or two about what it takes to thrive on that scene. The former Rice QB wrote the blueprint that Charlie Ward used to win a Heisman before converting to a WR in the NFL. Without missing a beat he put together 4 prolific seasons with the Falcons to begin his career.
Today Bert Sr. is a coach, an investor, a father and much more than a guy who has a rule named after him. Yes, of course we had to talk about THE RULE, but our conversation is much more than one play. In this one conversation Bert shows much more of who he really is as he talks about what it takes so succeed any aspect of your life.

Tim Grunhard talks NFL, Chiefs, and his new book, 'View from Center'. On this episode of the Beyond the Helmet we are joined by Chiefs Ring of Honor member, former 11 year Center for the team, Tim 'Grunny' Grunhard. Before you read any further, please give us a follow/subscribe and leave us a 5 star review!
Kansas City got it right in 1990. When they draft 'Grunny' from Notre Dame in the second round they picked a man who would become a pillar for their organization for the next 30+ years. Tim made an immediate impact as a rookie and would string together an 11 year career, all with KC, that featured nearly 170 games played, including 164 starts.
That was the 90's - what does he have to do with them today? Well, he is a KC area radio personality, in 2021 he was inducted into their Ring of Honor and just within the past few weeks he was in Germany as a KC Chiefs Ambassador with Dante Hall. The man is a lifer.
Grunhard has recently added author to his long list of accomplishments. 'View From Center' is available for preorder now at www.timgrunhard.com. After this conversation with him I don't see how you wouldn't want more stories and insights from him career.

On this episode of the Beyond the Helmet we are joined by Hall of Fame wide receiver, Isaac Bruce. Before you read any further, please give us a follow/subscribe and leave a comment!
15,000+ receiving yards, 1,000+ receptions and nearly 100 TDs in a storied NFL career barely begins to tell the Isaac Bruce story.
Fresh off of his Hall of Fame induction this summer, Isaac took the time to speak about his acceptance speech, his career and what he is focusing on today. The Isaac Bruce Foundation has been a staple for years and his Flight 300 program helps so many students on a yearly basis. Additionally, Smoosh Cookies (Smooshcookies.com) is his newest venture which we discuss as well.
Enough cannot be said about Isaac’s approach to the game and life overall. The principles of his faith and his success are profound - it is my hope that this conversation helps begin to share those with everyone as we each embark on our journeys and chase our own successes.

On this episode of the Beyond the Helmet we are joined by former All-Pro defensive tackle, Pat Williams.
Pat Williams played defensive tackle until he was nearly 40. Think about that.
This career almost never happened. Pat went to two different JUCOs before making it onto the field at Texas A&M only to go undrafted. There aren’t 25 year old undrafted rookies in the NFL who make a roster once.
Williams isn’t ordinary though. Insane quickness at an enormous frame under the tutelage of Bruce Smith and Ted Washington flourished. His last 4 years in Buffalo he was a force to be reckoned with. It wasn’t until his time in Minnesota where he became a household name making multiple Pro Bowls and an All-Pro nomination.

On this episode of the Beyond the Helmet we are joined by Super Bowl Champ and former Green Bay Packer, Michael Montgomery II. Before you read any further, please give us a follow/subscribe and leave us a 5 star review!
Michael Montgomery is a numbers guy. Playing defensive line he knew since high school which stats mattered and what his peers were doing. He figured if he could match what ‘the best’ in the state were doing then he would be ok. He was not wrong.
Montgomery worked himself into a JUCO player, then an All-Conference player at Texas A&M and then the NFL - almost all of which with the Green Bay Packers. After a nice career that was capped with a Super Bowl, he has invested himself in film and now into his new podcast ‘The Undefeated’. - check it out on YouTube and wherever you listen to your other favorite podcasts like this one.

On this episode of the Beyond the Helmet we are joined by former two-sport athlete and NFL QB, Quincy Carter.
Few people have ever possessed the athleticism Quincy Carter did. He pursued professional baseball for a few years out of high school before going to the University of Georgia to play quarterback. It took little time at all to see he was something special and was only continuing to improve.
With that being said, Quincy did not re-write the history books in the NFL. Despite being drafted by the Dallas Cowboys and appearing in his third 3 season to be well on his way, all was not well beneath the surface. Ultimately it was a marijuana habit that derailed his Cowboys career, but more importantly it was the beginning of a spiral that Quincy has fought through ever since.
Carter opens up about his life since playing in the NFL and where he is today. It is by no stretch an easy road to have gone from where he was in 2004 to where he proudly stands today. Quincy deserves the respect from all who will listen on achieving sobriety and fighting to make a positive impact in the world.
In the near future (April 2022) he will be hosting a QB and WR camp. We talk about on the program and the link to it is here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/coach-earl-chambers-n-qb-results-recruiting-camp-lagrange-college-ga-tickets-267892151637?utm_campaign=post_publish&utm_medium=email&utm_source=eventbrite&utm_content=shortLinkNewEmail
