  • One of the toughest races in the world, Dakar Rally
It’s one of the toughest races in the world and it takes place in some of the most challenging locations on the planet, but beyond that, how much do you know about the Dakar Rally and the men and women who literally risk everything to cross the finish line?

In this episode, we immerse ourselves in this world of speed, sand and sleep deprivation! Guided by TV host Caroline De Moraes, a veteran of Dakar Daily broadcasts and with the insight of someone who knows a thing or two about how tough it really is, Dakar winner Sam Sunderland. How do you navigate through a barren desert without any tracks? How does your body hold up to hours of riding over punishing terrain? How do you make sure that your vehicle holds up to hours of thrashing through thousands of kilometres of sand? And how do you maintain mental fortitude when you’ve miles driven off course, or there’s a chance you could get struck by lightning? All subjects we’ll touch on in this episode.

As well as hearing some of Sam’s experience in this gruelling event, we also hear from Motorsport royalty and Dakar veteran, Carlos Sainz, and the female biker pushing the men to find another gear out in the dunes, ten-time Dakar finisher, Laia Sans.
