We're back everyone! We hope you all had a great weekend and Father's Day. Appropriately, today's episode is all about Honoring your parents. We're still in Exodus, and halfway through these commandments, and we're excited to be sharing with you some more thoughts on this sometimes difficult statement from God. What does it mean to 'honor' your folks? We'll lets talk about it!
Welcome back everyone! This week we are tackling both our recent sermons; "Don't take God's Name in vain", and the "Sabbath" commandment all in one episode! Thank you guys for joining us and as always if you have any questions please let us know in the comments or feel free to reach out to us!
Our Ten Commandments series continues as we tackle the simple, yet hard-to-put-into-practice command of "no idols". Why does God need to address this? Do we have idols in our lives right now? What does it mean when we hear that God is jealous of us? We tackle all of these questions today on this week's "Beyond the Row". Thanks for joining in!
In part 2 of the series, Pastor Nate digs deeper into the reality of idols in our life. In Acts 17, the Apostle addresses this when he has a message for the leaders of Athens. The goal is to believe and follow in the Jesus of the Bible, not the Jesus we make or to fit our life.
Hey listeners! It's time for a brand new series called "The Ten Commandments", and today we're happy to share the first episode of that series. Before we had the law and documented rules for our lives, there was a lot of things going on in Israel that God needed to address, so through this beautiful picture of salvation and rescue we have Moses and his first-hand encounter with the God of the universe. Follow along with us in Exodus 20 as we start our dive into the 10 Commandments.
Pastor Nate kicked off a new series digging into the 10 commandments and the connection to Jesus. We started off with the 1st commandment of having no other gods before Yahweh. To grasp the first commandment, we must understand there is no other god than the triune God. There is no competition. So, why do we try to put things in the place where God will always be?
We are grateful for God-fearing women. In this message, Pastor Nate encourages all women to run after God and be what they are called to be.
Another season in the making! This is our first episode of our 6th season and it's fitting that we're talking about our recent 'Vision Sunday' at Avenue! Where we looked at where we were, where we are, and where we want to go. So join us as we look beyond and towards the future as a body of believers in Jesus Christ!
Today we took some significant time to talk about where God is asking us to go over the next 1, 3, and 5 years. Pastor Nate and Woody share with us the significance of mission and vision as a church. Will you join us to help take Avenue to the next part of the journey? It's going to take all of us as God leads us.
Today we're wrapping up not only the "I AM" series but also our 5th season of BtR! We're so grateful you guys have been with us thus far and we appreciate the support. If every Sunday morning was leading to just one event in history it should be the Resurrection; not just on Easter. Not only did Jesus predict His own death and come back from the grave He also refers to HIMSELF as the Resurrection, but what does that actually mean? How does that affect us? Join us today as we talk about the final "I AM" statement of Christ.
