Carrie is a 20-year veteran of the Chicago Police Department and the daughter of a retired Chicago Police Officer who died by suicide. Coming from a long line of law enforcement, she has experienced the job from many angles—working a beat car, community policing, specialized teams, desk duty, and as a DARE/GREAT officer.
Since her father’s passing in 2023, Carrie has been open about the profound impact of suicide on her family, especially her two children. She is passionate about mental health awareness and breaking the stigma surrounding officers seeking help.
If you or someone you love is struggling, please reach out—help is available. You are not alone.
In the U.S., you can call or text the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at 988 for free, 24/7, confidential support.
