Only a few diamonds escape the mantle layer and that’s what makes them so precious and rare. The pressure pushes winners to the top. Those that can withstand the heat, the pressure, and life’s eruptions will be victorious every single time.

I believe, to experience a next level shift in your life and see the things you have never seen, you are going to have to do the things you have never done. You are going to have to test your faith and face the fire. Music Credits: Knockout (Instrumental) - Amber Spill and Through the Wire (Instrumental) - Kanye West, Chaka Khan

Dr. Robert Anthony said you could either have reasons or results. Reasons don’t count, so the only thing that matters in life are the results. It’s time to stop fabricating excuses. The Universe responds to those who fully commit.

The trauma of our cultures runs deeps through our veins. That trauma has kept us stuck playing a role that has been both life-sustaining and damaging at the same time. The Strong Black Woman isn’t dead; she’s just been holding her breath.

We have to come away from the “fake it until we make it” culture. African Americans are 10% more likely to experience serious psychological distress, and yet only 30% of the African American community receives mental health support. Depression is not a sign that you’re not strong; strong Black women get depressed.

Champions welcome a challenge and understand that things will not always be easy, but in order to win, you have to concentrate and commit. Fourth quarter comebacks mean there were three quarters worth of mistakes, and to rise above and persevere can only take a winning mindset and a clear intention of winning.

Each one of us has a standing invitation to our greatness, but our faith must be tested to go to the next level. You have to look in the mirror and examine yourself. Your choices and actions will determine your ability to get out of the boat of mediocrity and walk on water. Your breakthrough cost extra, but you deserve to pay the cost.

After learning of the passing of Kobe Bryant, his daughter and seven other people in a helicopter crash, the world began mourning the devastating loss. As one of the greatest to play the game of basketball, Kobe Bryant showed us that what you do in the middle of your life matters. You have a contribution to make in the world and you don’t have a lot of time to leave your mark. What you do between the year of your birth and the day of your death makes all the difference.

TLC asked us an important question in the early 1990’s; What about your friends? Science has proven that birds of a feather flock together, but don’t always fly together. Get clear and intentional about who you are spending your time with. It may be taking too long to get where you are going because you are flying with the wrong birds.

“What belongs to you shall come to you, but not without doing the work”. We live in a microwave culture that says we should have instant success and instant fame, but it speaks little to the amount of work it takes to really achieve it. There are no short cuts, commit to doing the work in every area of your life.
