Jeff Oliver from the Prefontaine Classic joins the show to discuss the upcoming Prefontaine Classic that is happening on July 5th from Hayward Field. Oliver talks about the growth of college athletics and how he thinks Steve Prefontaine would think about the progress made including the progress of the Prefontaine Classic. Oliver talks about the talent that will be in Eugene for the Prefontaine Classic which includes 13 gold medalists from the past Olympics. Oliver thinks that this year's event could go down as the best track meet ever. Athletic director for the University of Portland, Scott Leykam, joins the program live from Omaha for the College World Series. Leykam is in Omaha, because he is one of the ten athletic directors on the committee to choose the 64 teams in the NCAA tournament. Leykam talks about how Omaha is the perfect home for the college world series. Leykam talks about the changing in college athletics and thinks that the NCAA is changing to quickly. The Seattle Times' Scott Hanson joins the program to discuss the rowing team at the University of Washington. Hanson compares the rowing team to the track and field program to the University of Oregon. Hanson says that the coaches are nervous right now that the rowing team is going to lose funding as they have been told that their rosters are going to be cut on both the men's and women's sides. Hanson says that the women's team is only going to get 20 scholarships while the University of Texas is going to have 68 scholarships.
