The American College of Sports Medicine recently came out with a study that shows at 35% or more of the elite professional and college athletes around the world are struggling with depression, eating disorders, anxiety, ADHD, sleep issues, relationship issues and so much more.

As a sport psychology coach for over 40 years, David Essel believes that the number of professional athletes affected by mental health and other issues is probably closer to 60%, due to the fact that most athletes that complete the surveys, even though they are anonymous in nature, may feel anxious in putting the truth down regarding what they’re struggling with.
