BGM: Bad Gay Movies = Bitchy Gay Men

Paul Mizzi, host of the The Swapcast Podcast, joins us on BGM this week for episode #148 to talk about a film that fits in both his and our show’s world!  A gay and straight brother decide they don’t understand each other and so swap lives…for a few hours…and then learn nothing.  You know we can’t make this stuff up.

Back to prime time!  We’re doing another groundbreaking TV movie that takes the story of a man coming out of the closet and makes it all about his parents.  Thankfully, we’re huge Marlo Thomas fans here at BGM.  Join Bil, Daniel and Michael as they watch Consenting Adult by Gilbert Cates

One of our favourite directors already took a chance at literary adaptation, so we were looking forward to not having a bad gay movie on our hands when we watched his second stab at bringing a novel to the screen. What we got wasn’t quite what we expected, in fact we didn’t even know if we had the G in the BGM until the last two minutes!

Who knew Cartagena had so many Americans!  One of them is Brian Jordan Alvarez, who writes, directs and stars in a sexy comedy in which he is constantly under threat of being beaten to death by his best friend.  How funny is that, we ask you?  Join Bil and Daniel as they discuss Everything Is Free

We know that Jessica Chastain is getting Oscar buzz for her performance as Tammy Faye Bakker in The Eyes Of Tammy Faye, but we wanted to remind you that, once upon a time, our Lord and Saviour Bernadette Peters played the woman with the notorious mascara and had none other than fallen angel Kevin Spacey as her scene partner.  Join Daniel and Bil as they discuss

We rarely have the pleasure of a literary adaptation, but someone had the wise idea to adapt Robert Rodi’s hilarious book…but didn’t notice that it was hilarious.  Daniel could only stay for a few minutes but Bil had to plenty to say about the movie, as did our very special guest Curtis Te Brinke of the Lola and Lani podcast!  Join the fun as we talk about Kept Boy by George Bamber
